Loving my Cabrio - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By thoughtcatalyst - October 6 - 2:00 amThis car is pure fun combined with VW reliability. The electric top allows me to put the top up or down at a stop light allowing incredible flexibility. Ive also driven it on slippery roads up to ski. It performed without any trouble with only ugraded radials on the front. The heated seats are also a welcome treat on cold mornings.

I dont reccommend - 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio
By Barshney - August 18 - 2:00 amIn less than 2 years both power windows have broken several times, and are very expensive to fix about 900 dollars per window. Warrantee is less than that of the other VWs. The airbag ingnitor broke right after 25000 miles and VW refused to fix it under the warrantee. That alone is nearly 800 dollars to fix. I dont suggest this car.

torn between love and hate - 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio
By stace - June 12 - 2:00 amas soon as i got into my cabrio, i fell in love with it. unfortunately that quickly ended when my fuel pump relay system went two weeks after i bought the car (34000 mi on car). soon after i found out that my windows werent hitting the weather stripping, causing them to leak, which isnt covered under my 2yr factory warranty because it is an "adjustment." my front wheel tie rod went bad a few months ago, way before it should have. my window regulators are going bad as well. just yesterday my check engine light came on, so well see what kind of surprise i have in store next. its impractical for me to have my car in the shop 1-2 times/month.

cute and fun - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By mindfulone - May 25 - 2:00 amThis car is a great! It is the only sporty convertible I could find that handles well in the snow. The electric top is convenient in that I do not worry about what is inside that someone might take. Another feature I looked for was enough space to pick someone up at the airport and have their luggage and my dog fit at the same time. The trunk is much bigger than the Miata or the BMW which were my other choices. The Cabrio is also much quieter than the others due to the multi-layered top. It is a lot of fun at a fair price

Careful - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By ks2227 - May 4 - 2:00 amI purchased a 2001 GLX 5 speed and it gave me nothing but troubles, if you want a car that will be in the dealership more that you will be driving then purchase this car. I had it for only 5 months and got fed up with all of the electrical problems and the fact the VW does nothing to help correct the issue that I got rid of it. The car was great when it worked but I have heard too many stories about the Cabrio not running the way it should.

wish it was better - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By trixxie - February 28 - 2:00 amyou know i waited and saved up for this car and wanted to love it. but i have had more problems than i care to list. yes i had the peeling doors replaced and the power window still sounds like broken glass on every bump. i have had the front seats replaced. now the check engine light came on and stayed on. and i was told it was a compter error and was $900 to fix- but it wont effect the running of the car. i think it is terrible that VW doesnt stand behind the product. this is great if you have another car to drive while its in the shop.

It rocks - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By rkp - February 3 - 10:00 amI wanted a reasonably priced convertible that was relatively safe. The Cabrio rocks. No - its not a chick car. There is more room in the front seat than was in the Mustang Convertible, Mitsubishi Spyder, BMW Z3, and Audi TT. I didnt fit comfortably in any of those (Im 63"). I have perfect leg room in my Cabrio. The body is rigid and the drive is peppy. OK the engine could be better, but its not bad for what you pay. Get the GLX, you will want all the features and the xtra cost isnt much.

Fun, Economical, Versatile Cabrio - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By C. Gratrix - December 9 - 3:50 amI purchased my VW Cabrio GLX in May, 2002, in time for Spring/Summer/Fall top-down days. The car has been a great investment. Its easy to transport a large box; I just put the top down - place the item in back seat - then put the top back up. The engine purrs like it will run forever. This car has been nothing but dependable. Gas mileage: 24.5 mpg in town / 30+ mpg on highway. Ive not had repairs other than standard maintenance. The fit and finish of the leather interior show little wear in 6 years. Pluses: heated seats, power top, automatic transmission, power windows, door locks, remote keyless entry. With a timeless European look and German engineering, the car is a 10.
