I really thought this car was the one - 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
By RHauck - February 20 - 11:10 amI read many reviews on this car before buying. Heres what I didnt know. CHEAP, cheap interior. Cloth seats really show dirt. Interior peeling. Power windows fixed 3 times. AXEL broke at 4 years 54K miles. Plastic parts break for no reason. One Check Engine problem to be fixed at 4 years. VW Wheel logo dealys FELL Off. Looks rediculous but to replace is $80 each! No decent cup holder for the driver. Console shows dirt and doesnt clean well.

NEVER BUY A VW! - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By MMV - January 25 - 2:00 amIve had such a bad experience with VW. I went to all the VWs in my area and cant believe the poor service that I have been getting. I LOVE my car, however it is not worth the price of dealing with their service department (s). Even after speaking to the manager I havent been helped. If you would like more detail, just email me.

Buyer be mindfull its 10 yrs old - 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
By catk2 - November 1 - 9:50 pmIve had my car for 5 years just paid it off a year ago. Now the problems have started. Everything was wonderful, at first. 3 days before christmas the window fell down and i couldnt bring it back up.The cost to fix it was $500. My starter gets stuck sometimes i have not fixed it yet it will cost me $450. Now this week my air went out and it cost me $650. Then the back window came off the convertible and no one can just fix it, i need a new top and window which is going to cost me $1400. Very bad week. I love my car but its costing me a lot right now and i wonder what will break next?

The ultimate girl car!!! - 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
By alyson - September 26 - 10:00 amMy 2001 cabrio GLX is my first girly car, I have always had boy type cars, but I have always love the way the cabrio looked!! Now that I have had her for over 2 years, I love her even more. She is fun to drive, very reliable and everyone comments on her. My boyfreind also loves to drive her because even though she has a 4 cylinder, she has lots of giddy-up!! He is 6ft 5" and fits quite nicely in her. Thanks VW for making such a fun car to drive and yes I am a very satisfied DRIVER!!!

2002 GLX Cabrio - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By rwooten - September 18 - 10:00 amI have wanted one of these since the cabriolet (when I was in college)came out in the 80s. This is a "play car" (3rd vehicle)for our family. After lugging around in a Yukon XL all day with kids this car is treat to drive.

So Close - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By jmiller - June 19 - 10:00 amThis is a good car that could be a great car. It is the best outfitted car in its price range. It handles well, and its great fun. But VW dropped the ball by not offering this car with the 1.8T engine package. A word to reliability. The one issue that I have had was that the battery was not fully charged upon my taking delivery of the car. Which resulted in a few jump starts from Roadside Assistance. The dealership immediately resolved the problem.

VW Never again - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By redman - April 30 - 3:03 pmMy wife always said she loved her VW. It was cute and the test drive was fun but the honeymoon was short lived. There were many problems with it over the years. Included were electrical issues, power Windows, chronic check engine light, air conditioner, on & on. Every time we got it back from the shop we were lucky if it would go 2 weeks before something else was needed. We had to keep a list so we could remember what to tell the service writer. VW dealer was to expensive for parts & labor and everything had to be done at the dealer. Last VW in our family if I have anything to say about it.

Love my Cabrio! - 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio
By Nivi - February 8 - 10:00 amThis car is FUN! Although I dont really feel it lacks horsepower (has 115), if youre looking for something that goes from 0-60 in a sec, this isnt for you. Its surprisingly roomy and comfy inside and 2 young kids or petite adults can easily fit in the back seats. Back seats go down and trunk is a good size for a convertible - the car passed my COSTCO test! Has ABS and also has a Roll bar on top for safety. Gives me great mileage too- 27MPG. AND it takes REGULAR unleaded gas. That saves me a lot and is a big deal. Very good resale value. Car is no noisier than a Honda Civic when top is on. A fun, yet PRACTICAL and economical convertible!

My Silver Cabbie! - 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio
By Beachgirl - December 30 - 10:00 amI think overall this was the car for me. After test-driving and researching what seems like a million types of compact convertibles. This one was the most practical for me! I wanted to be able to drive my friends to the beach not just another person. This is my 3rd German car...my first was an Audi and my last car was a BMW. VWs are so cute and so much fun!!!

Just bought yesterday! - 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
By kourtnie - December 24 - 8:00 amSo far I love my cabbie even though it is my first REAL day with it, I love the fact that it is a convertible, and the black interior is one of my favorites, it has more interior room than my old Integra in the back which is a plus for me, I hate the fact that EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is manual! The windows, the top, I mean its a 2001 not a 1974! It could have been made a little more up to date.
