  • Love the car - but prefer stick shift - 2009 Volkswagen CC
    By -

Having recently moved from Germany, this is my first car in the US. And while I really love the CC -- kudos for the other reviewers who I concur with on all the pros and favorites -- I had to make a hard compromise: In Germany, all VWs have manual transmission by default, automatic being an option. Here, stick shift isnt even an option (except in the Sport trim, which doesnt allow the selection of sunroof, dynaudio or navi options). Yes, were in the US but I would like to give VW a gentle nudge about heritage! As soon as VW fixes this, Ill replace my current CC! Side note: Why is a headliner called headliner? Maybe because your head touches it if you exceed 6 feet on the back seat :-)

  • VW finally got it right... - 2009 Volkswagen CC

Lease was up on my 2006 VW Passat; been waiting for the CC but test drove everything under the sun in the meantime. The CC is everything Id hoped it would be: exterior build and interior fit are exemplary. The car is fast and for the most part rides smooth (the run-flat tires make the ride a tad rougher). The navigation and satellite radio are a definite upgrade from my 06 Passats navi. My mom and I were sitting in the car last night watching Indiana Jones on DVD; the sound was amazing and I dont even have Dynaudio. VW got this one right.

  • Thats a VW? - 2009 Volkswagen CC

Best car I have ever owned. VW made one of their stupidest moves(after diesel flap) in not making more advertising and sales push for this car. I bought it over the MB E350, Cadillac CTS and Acura TLS(Too ugly in 2010). My other cars have included Acura TLS, Jaguar XJS, Rover 2000TC, etc.

  • Im sorry but I traded - 2009 Volkswagen CC
    By -

I bought the car (as a woman would) for the stuff that the salesman told me would work. after I signed the paper work and got the car home stuff didnt work. I took back to the service dept to learn that the car only had the buttons and lack the add ons that I wanted. The other turn off was that my feet would burn when driving the car. The air system would default to heat making it way to hot for me. My gas mileage was horrible getting about 15-18 mpg. I had to fill up twice a week. I thought this was too much since I only worked 10 miles from home. Sadly traded the car

  • AWFUL - 2009 Volkswagen CC

In the time I have had my CC, two new intake manifolds, new engine. YES I SAID A NEW ENGINE AFTER 80K MILES. VW did nothing. I asked if they could help discount or anything they said no since it was out of warranty even though the car was only 3 years old at the time. Needs new tires every year, cannot keep them aligned. Have replaced every taillight and headlight at least a couple of times. To top it off this week, the headliner just fell down in it. Yeah you know like when you see a 82 caprice and the headliner is sagging driving down the road...thats my car now. Called VW est. $1000-$1200 to replace it. I curse the day I bought this car.

  • GREAT CAR! Quick for a 4cyl - 2009 Volkswagen CC
    By -

Bought the car yesterday, fast fun and a REALLY cool exterior design. Only issues are interior storage, the door storage area is a joke. Rear seat middle area would be better served to seat a 5th person, also the rear could have easily had dual exhaust like on the 6cyl instead of one side on the 4cyl. But oh well, love the car through and through! Out the door price was $28k. Same car as the Audi a4 for the most part except its $5k cheaper...

  • Such a fun car - 2009 Volkswagen CC

So, I had to come back to Edmunds and write a review. We debated over the CC, and the somewhat comparably priced entry levels from Lexus, Infiniti, and Audi. Hard choice picking the VW over the "luxury" brands, but I have to tell you that it was definitely worth the name plate trade off. Extremely well built, solid car; very fun to drive, with a lot of pep for a 4-cylinder; like others have noted, unlike the entry level luxs, you will get plenty of looks. So many people have stopped my wife and me and asked what type of car it was, or just complimented the style and look. We bought a luxury model fully loaded (backup camera, bluetooth, nav, etc.) in the blue/gray. Would recommend to anyone.

  • Great Car....but - 2009 Volkswagen CC

I have only had this car in my garage for a few days - I too think the styling, performance (for a turbo 4 cyl.) and overall level of quality is great for a vehicle at this price level. I am very pleased so far and will update this review in a few months. However, for $32K+ the owners manual leaves a lot to be desired - whats written and what Ive got dont always seem to be the same. No information on the stereo/radio/sat/CD is provided and thats a bit of a frustration. Apparently theres no Blutooth cell system that uses the MFD or at least that my dealer was aware of. The panoramic sunroof is a waste of material. I still think this a great car even with a few shortcomings.

  • Much Improved Over Passat - 2009 Volkswagen CC
    By -

This CC has caused a sensation at work and the car wash; people want to know what it is since there is no name on the car. Ive only seen one other on the road. The quality and reliability (thus far) are vastly superior to my former Passat. Standard features compare very favorably to baseline Hondas, Toyotas, Minis, other German autos, etc. Heated seats are wonderful on cold mornings. The two tone interior gets envious stares! Power memory for 3 seat settings works well for each of us in my family.

  • Awesome!! - 2009 Volkswagen CC
    By -

I am happy to write a review on my cc. I needed a car to move around town, I average 120 miles a day commuting. I looked at lexus iseries and bmw 3 series but wanted something different . This car gets so much attention,, everyone says its the prettiest vw they have seen. It is so fun to drive i hardly feel the commute and dont mind getting on the road. It has never given me any mechanical problems and feels as new and exciting to drive even today after over 30k miles. I highly recommend it and plan on keeping it for a very long time. If you enjoy driving a quality car and dont care for flashy brand names and still like to stand out from the rest of the sheep this is the car for you!
