lots and lots of problems - 2011 Toyota Venza
By georgejacobs - March 23 - 3:43 amWeve purchased our 2011 Venza new and have had it now for three years and 35k miles. We have had continual problems with the alarm going off for no reason. Its been in the shop three times but Toyota cant fix it. They did manage to silence the horn on the alarm but the lights still flash. On and off the steering makes a whining or creaking sound. Recently the sun visor on the drivers side broke--it wouldnt stay up or down, just mid-way where it obstructed the front view. The mileage is not quite what Toyota claimed--we get about 22-24 on the highway. For a vehicle that had a sticker price of $40k, its definitely a disappointment.

Not good value - 2011 Toyota Venza
By mikeintx - December 16 - 1:05 pmNice looks. Lots of power. Poor ergonomics. Cheap materials inside. Seats very uncomfortable. Visibility limited. Rear camera is a joke. Weak brakes. Worse fuel mileage.

Faux Toyota - 2011 Toyota Venza
By aapcowboy - May 8 - 3:05 amI bought this car back in January of 2012. It was a 2011 Demo. Had all options. I figured because it was a Toyota it would be economical. Well they put all the scheduled maintenance into my financing so thats a plus. Negatives are Huge. We went from a GMC Acadia 2009 to the Venza. Acadia a much longer and heavier vehicle. But better gas mileage than the Venza. The Venzas tank fills up on about $50-$60 depending on gas rates. I am in Houston where it runs about $3+-. The dash at full reads about 300 miles to empty. My Optima at full reads almost $500. My Acadia would read about 450. The other main negative is the lack of room in the hatch area. I am already wanting to trade it in.

Disappointed with ride/handling - 2011 Toyota Venza
By i50fwe - September 7 - 2:42 amI have less than 500 miles on new 2011 Venza and Im ready to sell it. Very unhappy with the handling. At highway speed it requires constant attention to keep it straight. It just seems to wander out of the lane. It doesnt ride as smooth as I expected either. After first 2 hr trip I thought tires might be over inflated. I checked but all were set at 32 psi. After second 2 hr trip I have same complaint. Must be the electronic steering. This weekend I took my 2007 Honda Accord on same normal trip and remembered how great it handles. It required very little attention to keep in straight. I bought this car to be my primary road trip car because it has larger interior than Hond

Inferior material - 2011 Toyota Venza
By normone - December 29 - 3:48 pmToyota it would seem uses some below standards materials when it comes to carpeting. My Venza has developed a hole in the floor carpet located on the drivers side. With only 32,000 miles and the purchase of the extended warrantee all the Dealer and Toyota states that it is a wear item. I am hoping that the rest of the vehicle holds up better.
