Nice looks. Lots of power. Poor ergonomics. Cheap materials inside. Seats very uncomfortable. Visibility limited. Rear camera is a joke. Weak brakes. Worse fuel mileage.

  • Problems with VSC warnings - 2011 Toyota Venza
    By -

I have a 2009 Venza. Love the car however now having constant issues with VSC lights coming on. Many other people experiencing same thing. Dealers dont have a fix but they wont tell you that because they want to make some money. This is an issue with Toyota, they know this. I suggest you all do what I did, go to Toyotas website and post your concern, demand a recall. This issue seems to be escalating from the warning lights being on to car jumping into gear on its own. We should not have to pay for constant repairs for something that only Toyota can fix.

I bought this car back in January of 2012. It was a 2011 Demo. Had all options. I figured because it was a Toyota it would be economical. Well they put all the scheduled maintenance into my financing so thats a plus. Negatives are Huge. We went from a GMC Acadia 2009 to the Venza. Acadia a much longer and heavier vehicle. But better gas mileage than the Venza. The Venzas tank fills up on about $50-$60 depending on gas rates. I am in Houston where it runs about $3+-. The dash at full reads about 300 miles to empty. My Optima at full reads almost $500. My Acadia would read about 450. The other main negative is the lack of room in the hatch area. I am already wanting to trade it in.

  • knock knock - 2011 Toyota Venza

Bought 2011 Venza w/49 miles on it new. From the start complained of knocking noise from suspension when 1st starting out after car sits for awhile. Toyota says its common in all Venzas. Also slow shifting in am when car cold. Takes three blocks to shift to 3rd gear. Toyota also said is common. Cannot see myself driving this car long. Must trade soon. Toyota dealership Royal Palm Toyota in Royal Palm Beach Fl. gave me my worst experience buying a new car. Very disappointed in vehicle.

  • Love it and almost 100k miles! - 2011 Toyota Venza
    By -

I bought a 2010 Venza V6 2wd with approximately 20k miles on it in the summer of 2010. It is now August 2013 and I have a little over 98k on the odometer. I love this car! I have had no problems and no issues at all. I am a car freak and typically trade every year. I traded a 2009 Lincoln MKX for this Toyota. I realized that trading so often was simply costing too much so I wanted a car that I could keep for at least 150k miles and looks good...I made the right choice. It has plenty of power and I am averaging approx 20 MPG between city and hwy. I did have a cosmetic issue with a wheel. If you scrape a curb, the wheel paint can start to peel off in large chunks. Besides that, very happy.

  • Glad Im leasing this, Ill be giving it back! - 2011 Toyota Venza

Maybe I shouldve got the 6 cyl but there is a lot not to like about the 4 cyl. Ive had mine for 10K mi and the handling is very poor, the car drifts and seems like its constantly out of alignment, even right after they align and balance it. I took it in twice so far and it seems fine for maybe 2 weeks then it starts drifting again. Hate it. The power is too weak and the engine sounds like a cheap engine with a course sound. Very loud compared to my Odyssey. Gas mileage is poor, even on the 4 cyl. There is a lot of room for improvement on this car. Meanwhile, Ill be renting other cars for lengthy test drives before buying my next car. :(

  • Love my Venza! - 2011 Toyota Venza

I originally wanted a Chrysler Pacifica and was very disappointed that they stopped producing this car. I drove a Subaru Outback for 11 years and I loved this car dearly. I was planning on buying another or Venza, or a Pacifica. I loved the LOOK of the Venza, however the 2009s were pathetic inside. I waited and kept hoping it would improve. I read alot of reviews and the number one complaint was the rough ride. It definitely has a stiff ride but that to me makes it fun to drive. I loved my AWD, but the FWD is working quite nice as well. It is also does not have excellent fuel economy, but is comparable to my Subarus mileage. Everyday I tell someone, I LOVE MY VENZA!

  • Ripped Off BY Toyota - 2011 Toyota Venza

This Venza is a piece of CRAP. Have had it for three weeks. You have to rank on the steering wheel back and forth to get the key to turn to start. The key ignition as at a stupid angle. Everything in this Venza is CHEAP. The back up camera is useless. And to top things off Park City Toyota in Medicine Hat, Alberta charged me $ 2,000.00 over the sticker price. They then added on that stupid window etching without my permission. I have to sue them to get my money back that they stole from me. I will NEVER purchase another JUNK Toyota from any of the [violative content deleted] Toyota dealers.

We love the car! It has absolutely been a great car so far. Sun Toyota was an amazing dealership to go to and we will continue to buy our cars from here.

I do work for a Toyota dealer and have access to all the cars. I had my Camry for 9 years and the Venza was a perfect next step. Before I bought the Venza I test drove the Ford Edge and Chevy Terrain. I also tried several new sedans to make sure I wasnt missing anything. After driving the Venza I dont think I could ever go back to a sedan.
