These cars are excellent. The performance is great, the handling is even better, and youll never get more looks from people with another car. One thing I do need to warn you about is the pre-catalytic converters for pre- 02s. They are known to go bad and will ruin the engine. The easiest remedy is to simply gut the pre-cats. Its most likely illegal to do but techincally wouldnt make the car fail emissions. It only takes away its LEV rating. Id much rather lose that than my engine. Another route is to have an engine from 2002 up put in there as they dont seem to be affected. (disclaimer, I assume no liabilty if you gut the pre-cats. its easy to do but requires a bit of work.)

My every day commute car, lots of fun to drive. Very dependable, only problem is no storage room and not easy to carry a bicycle. I made a custom bike rack for 2 that works GREAT adn attaches to the rear transport tie downs (covered by plugs on the rear grill. Drives like it is on rails!

This is my favorite car Ive ever owned!!! Its HOT looking, nimble & quick! I search for curvy roads! I drove BMW Z4 & 330, Z28 & Vett, 911 & Boxster. Give me 2 or 3 MR-2s any day for the same $$$ of any of them! It maintains 80mph up 6% grades w/ no down-shifting!!! Wouldnt mind more storage, but not if it changes anything about the car. Chased a 911 thru curves @ high-speed w/ no problmes! Everyone is shocked when they find out it is as inexpensive as it is. If Porsche was still building the 914, this is what it would look like! AWSOME CAR!!!

I love my spyder, you cant buy a better car for the prices. I had 2 accidents with the car and I had no serious injuries. Toyota really builded a fine car. Space? Please, you dont buy this car to move your apartment.

The tires on this car are lifeless. How do you expect a consumer to afford $500 annually for a set of tires. The tires on this car are 10,000 to 15,000 mile tires and if you compare this to the national average of miles driven per year, youll soon see that a set of tires for this vehicle are required annually. If I had none this prior to the sale Id have purchased a Mazda Miata or paid more and gotten a Honda S2000

I bought this car about a week ago after selling my 96 Cobra because I was tired of paying for 14mpg on premium fuel. I must say that even though it doesnt have the power that Im used to its still a blast to drive, and you can push this thing hard through corners. When it finally does break loose, which is usually slight understeer surprisingly since it is rear wheel drive, it is easy to regain control. I average about 30mpg even with pushing the MR2 pretty hard a lot of the time. I expected it to get a little bit more attention than it has but owell.. If theres anything this car could use it would be a little more power. But it is still a really fun car to drive!

The Spyder has always grabbed my attention due to the look of the giant, Euro-styled headlights and its no-fluff, sports car focus. Sure, its impractical, with no luggage space to speak of, challenging entry/exit gymnastics, and lots of noise at freeway speeds. What I like is having a car with the maintenance requirements of a Corolla with the handling of a Lotus. My favorite roads are two lane highways where the combination of the excellent 5-speed gearbox, tight steering, and powerful brakes make every outing a joy. While I am quite tall, I have plenty of headroom and legroom, and the seats are comfortable for a two hour drive to the wine country.

My Spyder turns heads everywhere I go. It is so fun to drive and it handles like a go kart on rails. I have had many sports cars in the past but this one is my favorite.

The MR2 has stopped my "must have a new car every 2yr itch!" It handles well, is excellent on gas and looks fabulous. Very limited cargo and passenger space will not limit the amount of time you will want to drive your Spyder, its never enough. If you want to have a least one person a day stop and ask "what kind of car is that?!", this is the car for you! With all that said, dont buy one because current owners enjoy the uniqueness of the MR2 Spyder!
