With gas prices rising, Im so happy with my Toy. Great for people on fixed incomes. Would consider buying another one when the time comes. Great in snow 1 foot or less. Front seat nice and high especially for elderly, and people with problems from the waist down, especially disabled transferring from wheelchair to car.

I had a Honda 1999 civic before this and I spent $3000. On services just to keep it right. These echos just need oil changes. More room higher off ground for flood areas better mpg quieter. You have to neglect the car to have a problem. 30mpg city. Easy to drive and park. I had a 2005 corolla and it was falling apart . Sad. I know when I walk out to my echo it is going to take me where Im going with no problems. These cars were built right. 200k miles easy. No timing belt bs. At 113k now only needs front rotors replaced. Perfect for city or long distance. I would drive it anywhere anytime year.

There is no getting around it, I just love this car - and expect a lot of attention when you drive it. Other owners will wave furiously, and whenever I come out of the mall, there will be someone looking at it and wanting to ask questions

  • A great little car. - 2005 Toyota Echo

The car gets great mileage and has decent power to boot. Its easy to park, but has plenty of passenger and cargo room. Handling and ride are acceptable. Exterior styling is pretty good, but could be better. Interior looks kind of cheap. I like the center-mounted instrument cluster because the steering wheel doesnt get in the way of the gauges. Its solidly built and wont squeak or rattle. The cd stereo is great. The Scion xA and xB are based on the same platform, but have much less cargo room with the rear seats upright. The echo makes more sense if you need to carry around four people and cargo.

Ive had my echo since Jan 02 and i have never had a problem! Gas milege is great, even though it looks small it has alot of room inside, the only thing it doesnt really have good pick up speed.

The best money I ever spent on a car! Its a shame this car did not catch on with most of the public. With todays gas prices its a solution available today ! Its about half the cost of a hybrid, but gets 40+ mpg ! A great value. I was surprised how peppy this car is for a fuel efficient car.

I bought my manual transmission equipped Echo to tow on the ground behind my motorhome because of its light weight and Toyotas known reliability and I have not been disappointed.
