  • Fun car-simple too - 1997 Toyota Celica

Ive had this car for 4 months now and it truely is a blast. Great handling (FWD), good acceleration (could use a little more at times). Toyota Quality. And the best of all, you are more likely to see 100 preludes, cavaliers, or sunfires before you see just one of these beauties on the road. Toyota should have kept this style, its much better than the new celica body design. Overall, try it and you will love it.

  • Celica STX - 1997 Toyota Celica

I bought a rare Celica ST (base 1.8L engine) with all power options and a sports package that includes 15" BBS alloy rims, a power moonroof and a spoiler, with the STX badging. Its been a great car so far, and I dont ever want to trade it in. Its taken me from Louisville to Memphis and from Louisville to Toronto, and runs like a champ. I drive with the pedal to the floor and the automatic transmission is the smoothest Ive ever felt.

this is a great first car , its small and doesnt fit many people so its harder for a teenager to break the law. its reliable and easy to maintain. with only 105 hp stock it can be modified, however, it may be expensive because 1) its a toyota, and 2)its a front wheel drive so the transmission is in the front(the reason there is so much trunk space). even with over 120,000mi, it is reliable.

  • Almost perfect - 1997 Toyota Celica

I finally settled on this car after a year of shopping and have been happy with it ever since. The cockpit fits like a glove, with plenty of leg room (Im 62"), the car corners on rails, and has enough power to get out of trouble. Surprisingly quiet with the top up and shear pleasure with it down. The reviewers seem to think something is wrong with the styling, but I still have people walk up to me at lights and tell me how beautiful the car is. After seven years of driving this car, I only have two real complaints - 1. The cup holders are in an awkward spot. 2. Toyota stopped making it.

  • No problem at all - 1997 Toyota Celica

Over all such a great car. I love it. Its worth every penny. Ive had it since 1997 and had no problem whatsoever. Generous trunk space for a convertible. I got a great deal!!!

  • need for speed - 1997 Toyota Celica

i bought this car with plans to turn it in to a pocket rocket, i suppose that is my only dissapointment. toyota marketted the celica as an economy car in america, using heads with smaller valves gives them the awesome gas millage they get. but for speed enthusiasts like myself, we have to spend twice as much as honda and acura owners to get the HP we desire. but i love the look and the suspention is great, especially with a set of TRD springs, and i have done a few performance mods that have probably put me up to the GT models status, but untill i change the heads ill never have the power i originally intended it to have.

  • Incredible - 1997 Toyota Celica

I have had this car for close to 10 years, and there is nothing better. Could use more horsepower, but it works. I just got in my first accident. I totalled the other car. I connected the battery cable and I was off with some physical damage on the car but still in great driving condition, This car is a security blanket, superbly reliable. I will never get rid of it.

  • 190k still going - 1997 Toyota Celica

Mine is an automatic 1995 toyota celica gt. It even has the original battery and in indiana here is constantly 10 - 20 degrees in the morning and starts everytime. The shocks are starting to go Finally but the engine is still strong as all get out. I can believe how this thing goes. Hoping to buy another one tomorrow.

  • Best car by far!!!! - 1997 Toyota Celica
    By -

I bought this car 10 years ago, and she runs like the day I got her...Just hit 150,000 miles and have never had any mechanical problems at all. That amazes me! Shocks are starting to show signs of needing replacing, power antennae motor went and thats all Ive have to deal with in the last 10 years..I get an avg of 35 MPG. I cant say anything bad about the reliability or drivability of this car.. I LOVE IT!!!!!!
