  • probably the best economy car.... - 2005 Scion xA

Pro: cheap, stylish. Cons: underpower, no armrest, no cruise control This car is a very good economy car, @ around 14K it has power everything, plus an MP3 deck, and pionner speaker system, antilock brake, and the list goes on, it is very sporty looking, at this price range you wont find any other car that can offer the same amount of equipment, from the corolla to the civic. the design of the car looks nice and easy to use. The car is seriously under power, @ a mare 100HP its a joke, but the little thing generate the same amount of power as a civic or a corolla, the MPG is a joke, on the highway the engine takes alot to get up to speed and that hinder the MPG. the tC is better IMO.

Ive owned this almost new car for just a couple of days. It has only 16,500 miles, so it was a peach of a used car purchase. Love the high seats and the hatch. Had I driven it longer on the test drive, I might have had second thoughts; the ride is ultra firm. One feels ever road imperfection and Michigan roads are very poor. This car was marketed to youth, but Im AARP material. It should be a great grocery getter, but I dont think Id like to take a long trip due to the harsh ride. Perhaps softer tires would help? Ill report back after Ive logged more miles.

  • great value and fun to drive - 2005 Scion xA

Bought this car for my daughter and now I love to drive it. It handles very well, has power everything. It is only two weeks old and already has 1,100 miles on it, took it on two trips in very hilly areas and it handled very well and we were comforable all the way. Purchased the armrest seperatly, its a must and should have come with the car. Other than that, we just love it! Its a gas to drive around in.

The gas mileage is good but not up to the rating. Acceleration is anorexic, but nothing more than expected for such a small engine - although the manual is better, anybody that tells you its good is delusional. Despite the performance issues, its a cute car with only minor issues largely due to some cheaper parts.

  • Excellent car but need improvements - 2005 Scion xA

Its my first time buying a small gas- efficient car and for the price I paid, this car is definitely worth it. Unique and fun to drive but more improvement is needed such as arm- rest, small head-space because of elevated seating and tiny trunk. Overall, I am more than satisfied.

I always bought Hondas because they handle better than the Toyota. The Scion handles great and has reliability of a Toyota. The best of both worlds and great MPG to boot.

  • I love my xA! - 2005 Scion xA

Ive had my Scion xA for exactly a year now, and I am loving it just as much as when I first test-drove one. Remarkably fun to drive (and cute, too), my friends are jealous of the fuel economy and head room that their cars lack. A good fuel economy is always something to consider, especially now when gas prices are soaring. My Scion was a bargain when we bought it, and it continues to be one today!

I recommend this car to anyone and everyone! Its wonderful! Its small, so it gets terrific gas mileage, but its spacious. I can sit three people in the backseat and none of them complain!

  • Not the best car - 2005 Scion xA

I have put 21,000 miles on this car in 6mos. The seats are horrible, it is extremely loud in the cabin, the ride is so stiff that you can feel the tar stripes through the rock hard seats... It would be a great car for anyone who drives in town, not on the freeway... Any speed over 45mph the car becomes very loud. I would not recommend this car to anyone who does interstate/long- distance driving... the gas mileage doesnt make up for the lack of comfort and quiteness of more fuel-ineffcient, more expensive vehicle.

I bought this car for the gas milage but what I got was much more. I think this is the best car that I have ever driven to this point. The extra features that you can get with it is outstanding. I love sports cars so I got the lowering kit and 18 inch rims along with the Cold air induction and sport muffler. The gas milage is about 36 miles to the gallon and I get alot of responce on the gas pedal. I cant even get in it without someone asking me about it. I dont know how any other car companys are going to sell compacts when this car becomes more known. There are things that I would change in the manufacture but they would all drive up the base line price.
