The Scion xB has been redesigned for 2008. Though the second generation of this compact wagon maintains the boxy shape that made the original a cult favorite, the xB's exterior is softer and more rounded this year. More importantly, the xB is now larger, roomier and features a much more robust engine. The interior has been improved as well, highlighted by an impressive array of high-tech audio choices.
- Long standard features list, strong four-cylinder engine, large passenger and cargo space, audiophile-friendly stereos, styling some people love.
- Styling some people find ugly, center-mounted gauges are hard to see, no telescoping steering wheel.

Never thought Id drive this - 2008 Scion XB
By Terry - July 15 - 3:10 amWhen a friend of mine told me to go look at the xB when I was in the market for a small SUV I called him CRAZY. I swore I was not driving a box. Well, this box is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. It has awesome power and handling. Gas mileage is wonderful since I came from a Nissan Titan. I have all the extras like the Pioneer enhanced radio, rear spoiler, fog lights, overhead console, illuminated door sills, 17" rims, and under dash and cupholder neon lights. All this makes my xB even more unique than it already is. It is a great and fun car for the price, I would recommend it to anyone. Actually a month after I bought mine, my mom bought one too. We are now an xB family.

Go xB Go! - 2008 Scion XB
By Ken - June 15 - 6:40 pmThis is a fun car at an affordable price. Lots of safety features which I really appreciate. I put on about 30,000 miles/year and safety is very important to me. I like the solid feel of the xB and its quiet ride on the highway. The engine is quiet and powerful. I have the manual and it shifts like a dream. The best shifting car I have ever owned. I highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a car that is fun to drive and yet quite practical to own.

Great car for the price - 2008 Scion XB
By mikey - May 14 - 9:53 amMy wife and I bought a 2008 xB as our family car (we have 1 small child), and so far it has been wonderful. We just recently took a very long trip across the country, and the dual DVD monitors really came in handy keeping our son entertained!! Fuel economy is good, performance is great, love the iPod hookup and folding rear seats!!

By chris - April 15 - 11:00 pmI was so impressed with this car when I test drove It I put a down payment the same day and I bought it the next. It has everything I was looking for in a car, 4 cylinder engine, a lot of seating room because I am 61" tall, decent fuel economy without compromising performance, safety with six air bags, and toyotas legendary dependability and longevity. The brakes stop firmly without the ABS overly intruding. The steering is not soft or hard it is just right. The car takes corners without to much leaning.

Great car - 2008 Scion XB
By bgr - February 25 - 1:06 pmThis is my first new car and I love it. Ive had it for around three weeks and already have 1100 miles. The interior is very roomy, and being 64" that is very important. The performance of the car is not great, but if you get the TRD performance exahust and the cold air intake, it really helps. The exterior design is amazing. When Im stopped or just driving around I get people stopping and staring.

32 MPG CITY - 2008 Scion XB
By Rob - February 24 - 4:23 pmLooked at and drove all the contenders including Fit, Element, Matrix. But nothing really came close for the price. My last vehicle was the King Reliable Toyota Previa minivan. But I wanted something much more efficient but just as reliable. I do handy work and small remodeling projects for a living and needed some hauling ability. The Scion xB has been doing the duty for over 4 months now and getting 32 mpg in the process. The key to higher mpg numbers is in the 5 speed manual and coasting techniques. Im always looking for something better but I dont think anyone has made it yet. For now the xB rules.

By Mick - February 20 - 5:13 amWe have owned a Mercedes, an Audi, numerous Hondas, an RX-7 and a MINI Cooper S. This is by far the most practical car we have ever had. It is not a sports car but delivers a comfortable ride, gas mileage better than on the sticker and build quality that compares with just about anything priced ten grand higher. If we only had to have one car, this would be it.

Fun little car - 2008 Scion XB
By usafflyboy8 - February 11 - 8:16 pmWe had an 07 tC and traded it in for the 08 xB. Lots of room for every one. Handles very well and I can not tell much difference in power from the tC to the xB.

Most awesome car at this price - 2008 Scion XB
By Dave - January 21 - 10:06 pmI now have over 30,000 miles on this car in just over a year, and I love it more every day. I did have a wheel sensor that went bad, but dealer fixed it no problem. This is my second scion and as long as they make car that fit my needs, I will be a customer for life. For the first 10 months I was only averaging about 24mpg but just like with my first Scion, once I got towards 30,000 miles I am now averaging 29mpg and I do a lot of around town driving.

Value - Safety, Performance, Utility - 2008 Scion XB
By Jeff - January 14 - 11:16 pmI have had this car for a week, but have found it all that it is advertised to be and the other reviews accurate. As an engineer, I research all other potential vehicles thoroughly. The xB is without doubt the best value for the price. My attitude is that a car is an appliance and must meet a list of needs. Scion has created a very utilitarian vehicle -- I dont care about all the style discussions. But you might. The vehicle has all the advanced safety features and incredible space with seats down. The vehicle has all the expected creature comforts and is of expected Toyota quality. Ride is firm but comfortable. MPG on first tank was 30 mpg mixed on hilly PA highways and city.
