The 2006 Scion xB receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xB wagon offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. In other news, the xB's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.

  Good mileage with an xB - 2006 Scion XB

  Our experience with the xB has been pretty good to date. We average about 35 mpg with mostly highway driving. The ride on the interstate is a bit bumpy and noisy. Our Camry rides better on the interstate and is better for longer road trips. This vehicle is fine for everyday driving or for commuting to work. It fits well for tall drivers - my husband is over 6 and it fits him very comfortably. I wouldnt purchase this unless it has cruise control installed.

  I have owned Toyotas before and this one does not dissappoint. The ride quality is good and my gas mileage has ranged from 34 to 41 mpg (road trip). So far I have found no problems with build quality and the engine has a sort of "sewing machine motor" quality of liking to spin freely but being entirely smooth with no rough or flat spots.

  I really did not want to like the Scion xB as much as I do. I was looking at the Lexus IS 300, 2007 Camry and a few other cars. Keep in mind I do like unusual cars. I have owned a 2001 Mazda Miata SE, and a Mini Cooper. The xB could use a little more power that is my only "complaint"

  I absolutely loved this car. I bought it used and had it for a little over a year. I couldnt design a better car. Its small size and abundance of windows made it easy to parallel park. It was fun to drive - I never had a problem accidentally speeding on the highway or passing other cars. I could fit an amazing amount of stuff in the trunk (with seats down, of course). When youre sitting in the backseat there is an amazing amount of head and leg room. The wind didnt blow it around on the highway like it did my Geo Tracker (i was worried about this when buying another boxy car). Love it so much I am looking to buy another one right now!

  I love my Scion xB. Not only does it perform well and look great, but it does all the things I need it to. We camp a lot and all our gear fits in it and takes us up the mountains with no problems. Its a great little car with a big attitude. Its the best buy Ive ever made. I would buy another one! I wish Scion would come out with a little truck...my husband would love that! It really is the best car Ive ever bought and I love the way people look at it and come up to me in parking lots to ask about it and put their windows down at traffic lights to ask about it...its great!

  I love my new Scion xB. Its new, different, fast and tricked out. Try it and youre hooked. Ive added about $7,000 in aftermarket and TRD parts to mine. It beats Hondas hands down.

  Ive loved this car since day one. The interior cargo room is phenomenal for such a compact auto. Its tremendous gas mileage is a huge plus. Im also impressed with the overall feel of the large windows. They give a great view of the road while minimizing blind spots. Overall, the xB gives you a tight ride.

  This is the best car you can buy for money and more. It had good build quality and is super good on gas. It is the best on resale value.

  I feel like Alice in wonderland...the car looks so small from the outside but once you settle inside and drive, you have more than enough room and the view of the road is like widescreen panaramic scene.

  A Great Runabout - 2006 Scion XB

  This car replaced my beloved 95 Honda Accord Wagon which was wrecked, so I tend to compare it with the Accord. The xB excells in ease of entry/exit, price, fuel economy, head and legroom, cargo space when the rear seat isnt in use, 360 degree visibility, and ease of parking. On the down side, its engine performance is barely adequate, its ride quality is a little rough, it doesnt have much seat comfort, has a high noise level, and its handling in cross winds are tolerable but dont compare favorably with the Honda. In general, I like the Scion for local driving but miss the Accord for trips over 50 miles and cargo space with four people on board.
