The 2006 Scion xB receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xB wagon offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. In other news, the xB's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.

  • No Problems - Fun to Own! - 2006 Scion XB

Having owned many new cars over the years, this is the first that has not had to go back to the dealership for a problem or adjustment. Im tall and theres plenty of "people room", front and rear. The visiblity is great and the cornering is hard to believe - it doesnt feel the least bit tippy. Could use a bit more merging power for the highway but once going, it keeps up with high speed traffic very well. Im glad I read the reviews prior to purchase as it persuaded me to try both the stick and automatic. The automatic is significantly quieter at higher speeds and Im glad I went with it. I went with the center armrest and ipod stereo upgrades.

i really like this car, mostly for its height. getting out i only need to swivil and stand up. i bought it used, i think the previous owner beat it up. its new to me but i just tested the mileage andonly got 26mph, very disappointing, will try to find out why. my criticisms are 1. the only headlight is inadaquite, should have one over the front. 2. needs alot of rm. to park if you need to open the back,3. a little too noisy, and i bought it with a cracked windshield. didnt know it was a cronic problem. but i love how much you can see, lots of window space. also all the little spaces to hold things, fall all over the place. not deep enough. i love toyot, cant imagine driving any thing el

  • Best for the money I paid! - 2006 Scion XB

Great car! MPG could be better for 1.5L engine. I like the space, shelves, large doors and windows, all included options, seats, radio. Some important to me things I did purchase and install by myself, such as: central armrest, multiple 12v outlet, map light, trunk and underhood lights. Planning to install good (not original) fog lights. Thats it! At this point my project "Scion" will be finished. My wife loves this car as well.

  • Love the Box - 2006 Scion XB

I love my X box. It really does get 30 mpg in town. It is fun to be seen in, and also fun to drive. My dog loves it and actually we bought it for him, and to go camping. Buy the cargo mat for your dog. I am not 20 something but I do appreciate good value for my buck. Buy something different.

  • Kermies Car - 2006 Scion XB

My Scion xB handles well and is not affected by the wind, which is surprising in a car shaped like a box. I am getting 32 mpg city/highway combined. It is easy to drive and its seats are very comfortable and back supportive. My sons are all 6 feet tall or taller and they can sit in the back seat with ample leg room. This car is fun to drive. I have the Special Edition which is Kermit green so I get lots of looks, double takes, and waves from other xB drivers. I also get a lot of "what kind of car is that anyway?" It has plenty of cargo room, we hauled two weeks worth of supplies, two adults, and a dog to the cottage we rent every summer. It is a decent car for well under $20,000.

  • Gotta Love the Box! - 2006 Scion XB

Were an active couple in our 50s and were looking for a spacious, gas conserving car that could also carry our kayaks and bikes. We love the Scion xB. We should have the Kayak rack put on this week. Our bikes just do make it inside if their front wheels are removed. We are considering mounting them on-top. Its responsive, and to me has plenty of power. I ordered through the dealership and it took 70 days for my car to arrive. I got the 2006 polar-white, 5-speed with armrest and cruise-control. That was it. The total cost was just under $16,000. The reviews on this site are right on the money to me when describing this car. I read them before I test drove and purchased. I only have 200 miles on mine so far but I am extremely happy.

The 2006 Scion xB is perfect for both first time buyers and experienced consumers. It has all the you can want in a car for a more than reasonable price of $15,100. It comes standard with power evarything and a amazing Pioneer radio. It also comes with a port to plug your MP3 player right in so you can listen to all your music downloads. Its fuel economy puts it above most cars out there with 30-35 miles per gallon. Besides those features the Scion has massive amounts of space inside.

Bought it because of the Toyota name, the cargo space, gas mileage around town and the "green" engine. Price and warranty were great. It has performed well, has great pick up and drives and parks easily. I can haul my dogs or my gardening equipment and plants in it easily. Only two complaints... change the location of the cup holder and try to smooth out the ride some.

  • I Love, Love, Love this Car! - 2006 Scion XB

Ive been driving my 2006 Scion xB for two months now, having previously owned a Honda Odyssey. My xB is so much fun to drive, and handles corners so well, that Im having a blast. My husband was hesitant, but is now thinking of getting one for himself! My college-aged daughters are begging to drive it during their school break. This car is really deceptive, being unbelievably roomy inside, handling the road well, and generally just zipping through traffic and into the smallest spaces. I added the rear bumper guard, cruise control, and an armrest, and really felt that everything else I would ever need was included. The visiblity is wonderful, I get from 29-36 mpg, and, even being fully loaded, insurance is cheap!

  • Looks are Deceiving... - 2006 Scion XB

Many of you probably think of the xB what I used to think before I got to really know one. Many of the same thoughts of claustrophobia and public humiliation crossed my mind when I first saw it. Then one of my friends bought one, truly a day to remember. This thing had so much headroom, legroom, and cargo room in such a small package it was astounding (and a bit dumbfounding initially). I have always like Toyotas for their reputation of build quality and reliability, this box is no exception. It is surpisingly quick (mostly due to its low curb weight) in the 5-speed variant and a joy to drive (mine isnt stock though). It has lots of handy features and plenty of aftermarket support.
