This Year's Model Updates:

The Scion xB has been redesigned for 2008. Though the second generation of this compact wagon maintains the boxy shape that made the original a cult favorite, the xB's exterior is softer and more rounded this year. More importantly, the xB is now larger, roomier and features a much more robust engine. The interior has been improved as well, highlighted by an impressive array of high-tech audio choices.

Pros:
  • Long standard features list, strong four-cylinder engine, large passenger and cargo space, audiophile-friendly stereos, styling some people love.
Cons:
  • Styling some people find ugly, center-mounted gauges are hard to see, no telescoping steering wheel.

My 08 Scion xB was the first vehicle I have ever bought new. I love the style of the vehicle. I wish it got a little better gas mileage though, I am avg like 25 mpg. And whats up with the 2 inch wide armrest??? That thing is ridiculous! And at least put one on the passenger side too. Other than that I love it. This is the first car I have driven where I could feel the transmission down shift when slowing down.

After one year and 13,700 miles no Major issues. Nautical blue with 5 speed. Car runs great. Ipod hookup works well. Power is good. Minor issue of clutch. This is the 7th car I owned with a clutch and I still feel uncomfortable with it. Feels like it sticks or slow to release. Other minor issue was the radio tuner knob keeps falling off. I am getting 30-32 miles per gallon on regular no name gas. Breaks are excellant, steering is great. Radio is fantastic. Headlights are exceptional at night. Interior lighting is great. Back seat undershelfs are great. Can seat 5 adults without a problem. Side view mirrors with lights are great. Horn is very sensative. Steering wheel radio controls are easy to operate.

If size matters this will do ya. This seemingly small car is so spacious and comfortable. I am a marketer, in my car all day and my husband is six foot five and has plenty of room. The power is suprising and it handles great. The interior is fun and stylish.

  • Fun to drive. - 2008 Scion XB

I took my new xB up around some nice curves from the Rose Garden to the Arboretum in Portland, OR. This baby really rocks around the curves, and that 0-30 really helps. The xB is extremely stable, staying mostly flat with very little twisting - Id like to see what the rear sway and front strut bars would do! Add a supercharger from TRD and were talking head-to-head with a 328i that costs $12,000 more. Add a TRD CAI and sport muffler, and were talking bout beating that German engineering. Replace the OEM speakers, though. These things sound bad as in flat.

The new xB is a very functional vehicle with amazing luggage space with the rear seat down. What else impresses me is the acceleration and the quiet ride. You really do feel isolated driving the xB which makes for a good road trip car.

This is the greatest car I have ever had. It is good-looking and stands out from all the rest. I get a lot of looks and questions from bystanders. It is a great family car, with a whole lot of room. It drives and handles absolutely fantastic. I love this car.

  • Great Gas Mileage - 2008 Scion XB
    By -

After driving 8000 miles in a variety of scenarios, city and freeway, I have never experienced less than 28.0 mpg. High of 31.0. Fun to drive, quiet, good acceleration, great sound system. Very roomy considering outside dimensions. A/C performs well, even in AZ. Complaint, 1st gear-5speed, is geared too low. Single price, adjusted for delivery, is a welcome feature.

  • the xB IS golden - 2008 Scion XB

We bought our first xB in 2003 manual transmission, it works we have over 150,000 miles on it. We needed a 2nd car with a little more room and an automatic...The answer was golden - the 2008 xB with the moonroof. It is just the right size, fun to drive, with the larger engine, the gas mileage not too bad. However, it does need some noiseproofing... Nevertheless we love our new goldmember. Now were going to bring it to Lombards (the Car Stereo Store) in San Luis Obispo for serious Dynamat.

  • Outside the demographic - 2008 Scion XB

Although I am outside the standard age demographic, they let me buy an Xb anyway. After years of driving a fairly large SUV, I was looking to go smaller and more fuel-efficient. I looked at a handful of other sedans/wagons and the Scion Xb was the only car in which I felt comfortable (I am fairly tall). In the others cars, I was either staring into the sun-visor or hunching over to see out of the front window. The Xb also has enough back seat and cargo room for traveling with my kids, a worry I had in giving up the SUV. On a recent trip, we fit four suitcases and three bags of golf clubs in the back. No more worries on space. I also got 31 MPG on that trip.
