  • Older Folks Like It Too! - 2006 Scion XB

My wife and I are in our 50s and we absolutely love this car. We were looking for something economical to buy, economical to operate, and fun to drive! We sure found it in the Scion Xb. Ive always liked small cars. The first car I ever bought was a 63 Volkswagon Beetle. Ive owned eveything from small pick-ups to a Porsche 914 and a Honda CR-V, but the xB is the most fun to drive. Even though it is marketed to younger people, I think a lot middle-aged and older people would really enjoy this car.

  • Love All of It, but the Drivers Seat - 2006 Scion XB

I am 68 and the xB is one of the few inexpensive dependable cars I could consider. So far so good. I get about 33 mpg in all driving. My problem is that the drivers seat is very uncomfortable. I would benefit from having a power seat that allows more adjustment. I would not recommend this car anyone over 64". The available arm rest is cheap and does no good for me. Otherwise the xB is a pleasure to drive and surprisingly quiet when driven in town.

This car is perfect for our family. It seems if you have kids, you must either have the gas guzzler SUV or the sooo suburban minivan. But the xB you get the ability to put your kids in the car without excessive reaching or knocking the kids heads on the doors, great gas mileage, and just enough room to carry their stroller and groceries in one trip. Not a great traveling car, but since I only use it in the city to cart my kids around, its perfect!!

From the start this car has been nothing short of great. We have had no problems whatsoever. Im 60" tall and have ample leg room. For the money I believe its the best deal in the car market right now.

Let me say it again! I love this car. I paint and finish woodwork for a living 90 miles from home. I put on lots of miles! Everything that fit in the box of my F-150 fits in my new paintbox except for the 6 foot ladder. (I havent tried yet) I now pay a lot less for gas. The day I picked it up i had bought 5 old chairs, the salesman laughed. I said I haul lots of junk all the time might as well start the first day, they all fit with room to spare. You have lots of people stare, strangers want to know what it is, if they can look in it. It is a conversation piece. The only negative I have about the car is that on gravel roads it lets in a lot of real fine dust into the car.

Ive had this car for 4 months now and absolutely love it. Im 57 years old and have relatives in their 70s that have no problem getting in and out. One of my sons is 67" and can sit in the back seat without his knees touching the front seat even when its completely extended. Nobodys head touches the ceiling. Its amazing how much stuff I can haul from the building supply stores. In town Im getting a little over 29 mpg. On my last trip, one tankful that was soley freeway driving got 36.9 mpg. The ride is a little stiff but it corners like a sportscar. I love this car!

This is my first Toyota vehicle and I just LOVE it. Its got so much style inside and outside. Even the base model that I have, still has lots of little extras including the iPod auxilary port, Pioneer radio/CD player which is sattellite radio compatible. Its a 4-cylinder car, so the initial pickup is not really fast. However, once the Scion xB gets going, it maintains a real nice even speed - none of that pulling back that other 4-cylinder cars seem to have. Also, the car maintains a nice even drive/speed even going up hills - doesnt seem to increase RPMs like my old 6-cylinder. Its just a great value for the money!

My son talked me into buying an xB and this is one of the best built cars period that I have ever owned.

I used to laugh at them until I drove one. I bought one about three weeks later and use it as a commuter car. My older kids fight for it on the weekend, as all thier friends, and stuff, fit comfortably. One of my favorite features, which I didnt quite appreciate at first, is the 360 degree visibility out the windows. No matter where you turn, you can see. Bonus, Im a big guy and fit comfortably. With the front seat all the way back and leaned, I can sit in the back seat with plenty of leg room. You cant believe how much room is in there until you get inside. I cant find anything to gripe about.
