Overview & Reviews
In an effort to get buyers under 30 into its dealerships, Toyota launches an all-new division called Scion. The brand will eventually grow to three models, but for now two are offered, one of these a boxy, attention-getting vehicle called the xB. Scion will use a no-haggle sales strategy and give buyers ample opportunity to customize their xBs, drawing upon a list of over three dozen dealer-installed options.
- Massive interior for its size, unusual mini-truck styling, long list of standard equipment, comes with stability control, handles well for a budget-priced vehicle.

Form Follows Function - 2004 Scion XB
By perling - August 29 - 9:25 pmIf you want is a cheap, extremely reliable four door with way more space than youd first notice, this is it. If you want comfort and power, go elsewhere. If you dont expect more than you should from this true Econo-Box, than youll actually find the Xb a joy to own. Its actually fun to drive and does well with its limited HP (tho an automatic with the air on must be a drag). Its extremely roomy inside, and easy to get into for older folks, and itll haul lots of junk. Top that off w/30+ mpg and rock solid reliability and cheap to maintain prices and its perfect for those who like its frugal design nature.

PT Cruiser with an Edge - 2004 Scion XB
By chuck858 - April 25 - 10:00 amSimilar only in in small outside/roomy inside. But as good as the Crooz may be, this box is funkier, handles quite well, gets better gas mileage, and doesnt feel slow in real-world driving. The five speed with optional front strut support and cold air intake is fun to drive, especially with my added 16x7" wheels and 205WR50/16 tires. No racer, but practical and very comfy for 4 XL adults. Its 30+ mpg makes most SUVs obscene by comparison, for street and highway use.

Perfect car for me! - 2004 Scion XB
By HollywoodFloral - April 13 - 2:00 amHave had the vehicle about a week now and it has been nothing but fun, fun, fun....the looks I am getting here in Dallas are surprise and interest in this fun new car. Very pleased with the great sound system and gas mileage. All of my friends are amazed at the leg room in the back seat. I have never had a very good experience buying a new car, but this one was definitely the exception. I built it on line with what I wanted and that is the price I paid with no haggling. I am definitely not a youngster anymore, just young at heart and this car makes it for me!

The little box that could... - 2004 Scion XB
By Liz - January 29 - 9:33 pmI did a google search on new cars that cost $15,000 or less and this car was in the group. I had never seen it on the streets before and took a look at it at the dealership. After the test drive, I researched this vehicle. Consumer Reports rates it as a good buy, and it is one of the best for fuel economy. Also rated excellent for interior room...who could deny that. Great for tall or disabled people. Forget about this being a "youth" car, Im 46 and I love it. I also got the manual, and its so fun to drive! I bought it on e-bay, and drove it from CT to IN, 1,000 miles w/no problems. Scion = Toyota = Quality!

By Gawd - December 2 - 10:00 amThe scion Xb is by far the most fun driving that I have ever had. It handles perfectly, the stick has great pick up and a friendly to use clutch. With all the accessories that you can add to this car every scion is sure to be unique in its own way.

Owners Report - 2004 Scion XB
By ferndale - November 21 - 10:00 amI love the fact that I get great gas milage. My teenage sons really like the way the car makes heads turn. The ride is a little rough because the car sits close to the ground. You will feel EVERY bump in the road. It takes a little getting used to when driving at night. There is NO dash panel that US drivers are accustomed. The 6-CD changer is a MUST. You will hear some wind noise when driving even with all windows up and doors locked. I think Toyota could have had a tighter build with the door panels.
