This Year's Model Updates:

In an effort to get buyers under 30 into its dealerships, Toyota launches an all-new division called Scion. The brand will eventually grow to three models, but for now two are offered, one of these a boxy, attention-getting vehicle called the xB. Scion will use a no-haggle sales strategy and give buyers ample opportunity to customize their xBs, drawing upon a list of over three dozen dealer-installed options.

Pros:
  • Massive interior for its size, unusual mini-truck styling, long list of standard equipment, comes with stability control, handles well for a budget-priced vehicle.
Cons:

I recently traded my 2001 Acura 3.2TL for 2 Scions I gotthe XB for me and the XA for the wife, I cannot tell you how happy I am with these 2 awesome cars, For the price I paid for both and the amounts of money I am saving in gas and specially in Insurance and the incredible amount of interior space that this car has it leaves my Acura in the dust as far as space goes. This car is super light weight and it feels like it has mor HP than it really has. My XB is 5spd and its alot of fun to drive, every one on the road looks at it and even guy in Porches drive by and cant help but to stare.

I am completely excited about my xB now, just as I was the day that I spotted her. I love her sleek boxy look, and the looks that I get from others while in it. The drive is very smooth and it handles well. I wish it had more horse power though.

I bought my xB knowing it lacked brute horsepower, but have not yet been in a situation where I needed it. It seems to have enough power and I cant believe the high speed cornering this car is capable of. It handles like a sports car, a good one. Im going to buy another new car soon and it will be eityher a Corvette or an xB, probably the xB because "I can afford it".

  • Too much fun... - 2004 Scion XB

I have put almost 3,000 miles on this car and I still look forward to driving it around. I cant believe that such a tiny car feels so huge on the inside. Upon first seeing it, most of my friends didnt even know what it was and they were shocked to learn that was cheaper than the Civic I drove before my xB. Everyone agrees that it feels like a higher end vehicle.

The Scion xB is a very nice car. Its great to run around town in, packing the kids and their stuff. So far it has been very dependable, we have not had a problem in two years. Its fun to be asked "what is that?"

First off let me say to all of you who think this is a little persons car.... youre dead wrong!!!!!!! I am 61", 250 lbs. And believe me, the xB can hold all of me and then some. I became interested in the car about 3 months ago when I was at work one day and saw it rolling past me. It almost looked like a baby Hummer H2! HA HA HA! I still didnt pay much attention until I blew the tranny in my 97 Dodge Intrepid and figured instead of spending $2500 to fix it, Id check into getting an economy car instead.

I loved this car the first time I sat in it. The placement of the instruments, the amazing interior room, the outstanding visibility is great. I am 67" and have 6" head clearance as the driver and my 69" son can sit behind me without having his knees in my back or his head on the ceiling. Ive been in quite a few different SUVs, and NONE have had as much room for 5 adults as the xB. My only gripe is the steering wheel does impinge on the leg room a bit, but that happens with virtually every car Ive driven except large luxury cars. It handles well, and has a great feel for the road, though can be a bit of a rough ride if you are used to luxury rides. The storage space is minimal.
