This Year's Model Updates:

In an effort to get buyers under 30 into its dealerships, Toyota launches an all-new division called Scion. The brand will eventually grow to three models, but for now two are offered, one of these a boxy, attention-getting vehicle called the xB. Scion will use a no-haggle sales strategy and give buyers ample opportunity to customize their xBs, drawing upon a list of over three dozen dealer-installed options.

Pros:
  • Massive interior for its size, unusual mini-truck styling, long list of standard equipment, comes with stability control, handles well for a budget-priced vehicle.
Cons:

  • Great Buy! - 2004 Scion XB

This car is fun to drive, not a hot rod but nice for cruising! Very comfortable and a lot of options for the price.

  • Fun, Practical, and Good Milages - 2004 Scion XB
    By -

XB is my first new car. I love is so much in terms of its style, good milages, and fun to drive. For a regular small cars price, it has all the features I need, like ABS, Traction control, stability control, auto-lock, auto window, and AC. All my friends love to drive it around town! Its just fun to drive!

  • Fun to Drive...Cool to look at - 2004 Scion XB

This is a fun vehicle.....very roomy all around....dressed up with the TRD mags and exhaust system with air induction...gives it a little umph. Handling is great....and with the TRD mags & tire option, you still get the OEM wheels/tires for winter driving...better traction/handling that the mags/Pirellis. Pretty much loaded and well under $20K. The xA is also a fun car to drive!

  • Poor A/C on an otherwise brilliant car - 2004 Scion XB
    By -

We made an special effort to find, buy and ship this car back to Dallas after my wife test drove on in Santa Rosa. At the test drive my wife reported the A/C seemed weak. On delivery we found the A/C marginal at over 100F. Taken to the local Toyota dealer found the air mix control off but this did little to fix overall performance. Appears the is the first of a new system of not compressor clutch. Its a shame the system is underpowered as the rest of the car is like nothing else on the market.

The look took a little while to grow on me but now i like the car.Its very comfortable an very roomie inside. The speed reminds u of a typical 4 cycle car.overall im satisfied w/ it an would recommend to any one as a 1st time buyer.

  • Cowmuting Cube - 2004 Scion XB
    By -

Purchased the box for cowmuting. (It’s “painted” in a black and white “cow” pattern) Even with four full grown men the box does well with the auto. Passing up hill is no problem if you lock out the overdrive. It deals well with the traffic on I15 and I5. I have had only two minor problems (the inside fan was making a “ticking” noise – free warranty repair, rear air dam was tweaked after some road trash – self repaired.). The MP3 CD player does well. Luggage space is a little tight when we are all off to work with all our junk, but we manage. The rear window wiper is almost useless. It goes, stops, and rocks, what more cud you want!

  • Great Affordable Mruck - 2004 Scion XB

This vehicle has been really fun to drive, feels much bigger than it looks. I love it! The options are overpriced, better off getting them as aftermarket features. For the price its a great car.

  • poor cup holders and no cruise control - 2004 Scion XB

roomy, good economy, quality, ugly. no cruise, and cup holders are worthless but..... a good buy for less than 15K

  • Excellent Achievement - 2004 Scion XB
    By -

The Scion xB is a fun vehicle to drive. Its exterior is deceptive. What appears to be a small car on the outside is actually a large car inside. Comfortable and firm bucket seats with enough knee room in the back for 6 foot plus passengers. Storage is minimal throughout vehicle. It low center of gravity make it stable in handling corners. In fact its low base make it very comfortable to enter and exit. No extended step down nor an uneasy pull to get up and out. Very similar to getting out of a chair. For the price and gas mileage I consider the Scion xB an excellent achievement in small cars. By the way it makes an excellent conversation piece.

  • Scion owner and fan - 2004 Scion XB

The drive is smooth and with very little outside noise. Price is reasonable and we loved the uniqueness of the car. Gas mileage is good, averages 23 miles per gallon combined city and highway. The seating is comfortable and we loved the placement of the gauges. The leg room and the head room is great for anyone.I have never owned a car that got as much attention as this has. I am repeatedly being stopped and asked what kind of car I have, who makes it,and most of the time they are leaning in to get a better look.
