Overview & Reviews
After Sunfire coupes got a rear spoiler last year, this year it's the sedan's turn, only as an option. The top-line 2.4-liter twin-cam engine is revised to improve breathing, including new fuel injectors, injection rails, exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. Fern Green Metallic is added to the paint color chart.
- Racy styling, comfy interior, rev-happy twin-cam engine, good value.
- Option list can overpower sale price, body roll apparent during hard cornering.

Sunfire - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By snowbie - November 8 - 2:00 amI owned my Sunfire for almost five years without any serious problems. I was content with the car. I recently was in an accident. From the looks of the damage, I didnt think it was too bad but it turned out to be a "total loss". Took a turn too fast for there being snow, and slid into a tree. Not even a knick in that tree and it wasnt anything that big. I guess I shouldnt be suprised since my passenger side door had almost a dozen dings because of the poor body quality. Im just glad it was a tree at 5-10 mph rather than getting in a more serious accident, who knows how badly torn to shreds that car couldve been, not to mention me.

Reliable for being an american Car - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By Hydracid - October 23 - 10:00 amOnly trouble I had was the side view mirro connectors are cheaply made and the light went out in the stereo clock. I have only had to perform routine maintainence which is nice. This is a much better pontiac in comparison to previous brands from previous years.

Fun and Reliable - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By RedMersady - April 26 - 2:00 amIve had my Sunfire Convertibel for 4 years and have loved it every minute. It has alot of pep for a 2.4 ltr engine. It looks like a much more expensive sports car...definitely doesnt look like any other compact car Ive ever seen. Id definitely recommend it!

Good Car for the Money - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By Robert Hodges - April 23 - 1:40 amThis car is a good value. The interior is comfy and it gets great gas mileage. Best of all I have only had minor problems with it and they have been really cheap to fix.

Sunfire - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By CARR - March 3 - 10:00 amNot the most comfortable car, and steering is a bit tricky. The car seems to jerk slightly going into a curve, and always has. Very reliable, ok power.

Only thing wrong w/the sunfire - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By Jessca91 - August 28 - 10:00 amI have found, as same with everyone I know that has this car (conv. 2 dr. gt sunfire) that the lights are really dim in comparison to all of the other cars on the road. A friend of mine and I both drive with our brights on, and have never been pulled over.

The Best - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By Sarah - August 23 - 11:06 amThis car was perfect for my teenage driver, encouraging safe driving, since it has a not-so-extreme power supply. it also handles very well, perfect for the inexperienced driver.

Lemon City - 1999 Pontiac Sunfire
By MaryBeth - June 1 - 3:43 amI purchase this car brand new. I had the car for a week and the speed gauges went out. I had to change the oxygen sensors three times. The battery went dead after three months. The electrical system had to be rewired after 3 mos. The front windshield cracked after two years. The car burned up a full tank of gas in three days. The car began to overheat and a component was added to regulate the temperature. Four years later the transmission went out and left me stranded on the side of the road. The trans would cost me $1900 to fix with a warranty. To top it off the moonroof went out. I had 50,000 miles which is low mileage because it stayed in the shop broken down. MS residents beware
