- No traction control when GTP Package is ordered. Base engine could use more oomph.

97 Grand prix coupe - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By pontiacdude97 - July 5 - 12:55 amNeedless to say, I absolutely Love this car! I enjoy destroying others on the street and absolutely confident on back country roads, does not shy from bends, twists or any kind of roads, even goes nicely down dirt or gravel roads.

A fun car to drive - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By wayne - June 5 - 6:13 amfun to drive, not bad on gas at 30 mpg turnpike speed. Wide track is good but even better with a plus 1 tire package.

Beat to hell, Runs like hell - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By fisher580 - May 20 - 3:34 pmWe bought the car with 15x,xxx miles and sold it to my friend with 205,xxx and it ran great, only left us stranded once, it overheated and boiled coolant out, but we were going 90+ mph through oklahoma during 95+ degree heat. we seen that coming. drove it on a 2500 mile trip and went 3000-5000 miles between oil changes, like said beat to hell in every way and always started and rarely got stuck. he now has 225,xxx miles on it and said it runs perfect

The Best Car Ever. - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By MrMartin - February 25 - 6:20 amThis car has been in our family since 1997, and has been through 11 Wisconsin winters, and all of our lovely weather here, and still runs like a top. Weve never had any major repairs other than standard maintenance. Has held up through one adult driver, and two teen drivers and shows no signs of stopping. It now has 136,000 miles on it and still looks good and drives great. I would not trade this for any other car, its just too good looking and reliable, and have no bad comments to say about it.

Piece of junk ! - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Brian - February 9 - 12:26 pmBought this car from a private sale about 4 years ago and its cost my wife and I big money ever since. First the heater fan burnt out (Actually fried the wires)big dollars to fix, then the windshield vent started to leak very badly, tailight cover seals went allowing water in to rust wiring, now it appears the water pump is going and I have a concern with the transmission. Its been one thing after another ! Fuel economy is terrible as well. Only has 111,000 kms on it. Getting rid of it soon once repairs are made and this will be our final General Motors vehicle.

Owned for 6 years - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By hardywang - December 26 - 2:23 amLost my GTP in an accident, an owned it for 6 years ended with 220000KM. Generally speaking it is a good car, styling, comfort, fast. With some issues as well, in 6 years I replaced: 2 water pumps, 2 crankshaft position sensors, 1 low ball joints, 2 sway bars. Rear strut mounts are gone.

Great Car - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix
By Great Car!!! - November 23 - 10:23 pmI love this car! I bought it in 1999 and it had 34,000 miles on it. Now it has approx. 113,000 miles on it. No real major problems at all. Some problems with power window motors. It hugs the road real nice and always has power when you need it.
