This Year's Model Updates:

Crew cab models receive a standard power up/down rear window with defroster, while all models get a tailgate with dampened assist. Other changes include new active head restraints for the driver and front passenger, new badging on the front doors and a unique wheel finish for SE models. The LE receives brushed aluminum interior trim accents and a leather-appointed bench seat is available in place of the buckets. The popular spray-in bedliner is now available as a stand-alone option on the XE.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

I love this truck, lots of power, great interior room, awesome stereo. I knew this was the truck for me. Only problem is at 4800 miles the front brake rotors are going bad. The service dept says they will fix it and order me new ones, but other reviews say the replacements go out quickly too. We will see.

  • If only it had better mileage - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

I have been thoroughly pleased with my purchase of this truck save for the dismal gas mileage. Ive taken 3 trips since my purchase back in May and the best that Ive been able to get on the highway is 14-15mpg. With gas prices steadily creeping towards the $3 mark, I may have to start considering an alternative.

  • No Buyers Remorse - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

This truck is awsome! I drove everything else with a king cab and 4WD and the Titan was my choice. Great looks inside and out, superb brake modulation, quite at speed (not wind, just exhaust),slamming audio system, plenty of interior room and the best transmission I have ever encountered. The only negative is a 5K miles the front rotors are starting to become untrue. Will be taking it into dealer soon for resolution.

  • Fantastic Cheap Work Truck - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

Bought the Titan to travel to the great white north country and needed 4WD. easy to operate the 4x4 and I drive 800 miles at a stretch. The gas mileage at 80 mph is generally between 18-20 mpg, excellent for a big V-8. Nice exhaust note! The brakes were an issue, but covered under warranty. Had a rear wheel bearing leak after 3yr warranty expired, covered under the 5yr 60K drivetrain warranty. Excellent warranty coverage by Nissan! The sheet metal is a little soft and dents easily. Still running the original tires at almost 40K on a 4x4 - unbelievable!! All around excellent truck, even in the XE no frills package.

  • 85,000 and still going strong - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

After 85,000 miles this truck still is going great. No major issues as of this writting, Cant understand why the truck commercials dont include TITAN.. guess they would make them laugh as this is one good truck. Though the style needs to be changed as they are getting a little dull in the looks, but still is a GREAT truck. No rattles, not one mechanical issue.

  • Great Truck, loads of power, bad brakes. - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

This is one great truck. Tons of power, hauls great too. Gas mileage is to be expected from such a powerful engine. Interior is comfortable, and the LE has everything you could want in a truck. The bed is by far the best I have owned, the factory bedliner and the rail lock system is unique. The only complaint is the brakes. The front brakes went bad at about 10,000 miles, and then again 5,000 miles later. Nissan dealer says they know they are not heavy enough to stop such a powerful truck and they are working on replacements though.

I drive my truck to work and home all week which is about a 55 mile round trip. I have to go up a mountain and through a very curvy two lane country road. The ride is smooth and comfortable, and I have power to spare when I want to pull out and pass going up the mountain. It goes great in the mud and snow and shifting into 4 wheel is a breeze. I enjoy just getting in my truck and driving not only is it comfortable but its fun and I always feel safe in it.

  • A female perspective - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

I purchased this truck new at year end clearance price. This is my fourth Nissan and my favorite. Ive owned an 89 Pathfinder, 02 Frontier, 03 Pathfinder. Test drove a 2006 Frontier Nismo (bumpy and cramped just like my 02 Frontier) same day I bought the Titan. Was a little intimidated at first by the Titan but as soon as I test drove it I loved it. Power Adjust pedals, backup assist warning, utility track in bed, storage compartments everywhere, and plenty of interior room! Handles like a luxury SUV! Would be nice if steprails were standard. Gas mileage is terrible but I love driving this truck so much I"ll put up with poor fuel economy.

  • Great truck! - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

I own this truck (2005 LE crew cab 4X4) now for 5 months and it still feels as great getting to drive it now as when I first took it home. When I bought the truck I was aware that there was a front brake pulsation problem but knew Nissan was working on the situation and would correct it soon. As always Nissan stepped up to the plate and the brakes are perfect now. All the Titans made after May 2005 no longer need to be repaired. Dont let this stop you from considering this truck. Youd be missing out on a great experience. Now after saying that there isnt a single othe problem with the truck inside or out. It performs absolutely flawlessly and would buy another Titan as my next truck.

I have owned a lot of trucks in my 63 years in Alaska. This is one strong, powerful mama. I pull a 4500 lb boat up a long pass and it pulls effortlessly throughout the rpm range at 14 mpg average (19/20 empty on the road). Great torque. On a long trip, my wife doesnt complain about seat discomfort and really loves the truck also... which is a real plus. I love this truck!
