The 2004 Nissan Titan is an all-new full-size truck. It was designed to compete head-on with the best-selling half-ton trucks from Ford, GM and Dodge.

Pros:
  • Powerful standard V8, smooth-riding suspension, spacious cabin with high-grade materials, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models.

  • so far, SOOO good - 2004 Nissan Titan

Bought this truck a little more than a month ago and I love it. It is a pleasure to own and drive. I hope that its long term reliability. Was torn between this and F-150, and found that the mechanical refinement of this vehicle outweighs the interior refinement of the Ford. So far, SOOO good.

  • Unsure of issue - 2004 Nissan Titan

I have a 2004 King Cab and I love this truck. I just dont like the noise coming from somewhere whenever Im making a turn as I come out of our driveway or the parking lot. It seems like its a steering or brake issue, Im not sure. (Only noticeable when the engine is still running for under 2 minutes or so.) Ive read about people often changing their brake rotors and pads. I remember having a brake judder when she was still about 5k miles. But I took it to the dealer and they corrected the problem. Im not sure if they replace the rotors and pads though. I plan on keeping her and will replace the pads and rotors to aftermarket ones if I have to.

  • Titan Rocks! - 2004 Nissan Titan

Previous Tundra owner here and thought about going with the Tundra Double cab. The Tundra DC didnt even come close in performance/room and options or price. I needed a front bench seat which isnt even an option on the Tundra double cab. So pretty much strike 3 right there. Dont get me wrong....I loved the Tundra while I had it, but there is no comparison to the Titan now. Nissan has definitely hit a home run with the Titan!

  • BLOWN TRANSMISSION on Test Drive - 2004 Nissan Titan

Test Drives, what are they for? Seeing what your future puppy can do. I was driving the new Titan as anyone would on a test drive when the rear end chirped and the tranny downshifted extremely roughly. This was followed by a floaty rpm range with no forward movement. After trying to go around the block i realized we were stuck in 3rd (no it wasnt the manual gear lock on the shifter). After a few mintes the check engine light was glowing.

We just bought this vehicle, but so far we are quite pleased. We had also looked at the Tundra, but for the $, the Titan was a better buy. So far, so good.

  • Great but not perfect - 2004 Nissan Titan

Love to drive my Titan. Lots of performance and sounds great. Room for the family. Good value for the money. Had problems with the gas gauge and interior lights. The gas gauge problem was with the sending unit in the gas tank. The part was on back order and took 3 weeks to repair as I drove a Sentra rental provided by the dealer. Like the adjustable pedals and power drivers seat.....easy to get good driving position. I get a so-so 16 to 18 mpg without the big tow pkg or 4 wheel- drive. Overall, this is a very nice truck and like it MUCH more than my former 2001 Tundra.

  • A little disappointed with this truck - 2004 Nissan Titan

The truck looks nice, rides nice, but two things are driving me crazy.....when the A/C is on low it sounds like someone is breathing with an iron lung under my dashboard. The second thing, when driving at 55, the exhaust note is annoying, too loud and constant. I wonder if anyone out there is experiencing that?

  • Cant wait for the new model - 2004 Nissan Titan

Great truck, lots of power, best space for a crew cab. No other crew cab truck came close to the interior space the titian has. I had a few problems with the truck, but all new vehicles have a few bugs when they first come out. The dealership has replaced all my rotors and brake pads, my center rear seat belt, differential cover because the 2004 models have the steal covers not the aluminum, (the aluminum one is on the 2005 and present models, slotted, so better for heat, and comes with synthetic differential oil) and my rear tweeters. Overall great truck

  • MY EXPERIENCE - 2004 Nissan Titan
    By -

Great engine sound. Very fast. Excellent exterior and exterior design. Lower than expected actual MPG. My only problems are the fact that the truck doesnt handle well on highway at fast speeds of 75-80MPH. I dont feel safe driving that speed in this truck but did so with ease in my previous truck hade by another company. Other complaints are radio controls, no rear defroster and no locking doors when truck is out of park. So far, everything else is GREAT!
