This Year's Model Updates:

Crew cab models receive a standard power up/down rear window with defroster, while all models get a tailgate with dampened assist. Other changes include new active head restraints for the driver and front passenger, new badging on the front doors and a unique wheel finish for SE models. The LE receives brushed aluminum interior trim accents and a leather-appointed bench seat is available in place of the buckets. The popular spray-in bedliner is now available as a stand-alone option on the XE.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

Since getting into a Titan I actually enjoy driving again. I cant remember the last time I have gotten into any vehicle and started smiling as I was driving. Even the congested roads of western Washington dont get me down anymore. The power and smooth response of this truck is like that of a sports car but with the capability of driving off road, pulling a tree stump, and hunting. Everything from the BF Goodrich tires to the XM satellite radio is just a joy to have. The engineering is excellent and nobody can touch the utility track bed. All I want to do is drive. I want to go on a road trip so bad I cant sleep at night. However, this weekend, Mt. St. Helens, "Baby."

  • Bad Truck! Bad is good here - 2005 Nissan Titan

I traded my 2004 Frontier supercharged truck in for the Titan. I did my research on the Titan and was confident that it would be a good choice to go with it over any other 1/2 ton on the market. I was Right on the money. This Truck will smoke any stock Dodge Hemi with 1000 lbs in the bed of the Titan and the Dodge dry. If you are in the market for a full size 1/2 ton truck I suggest you dont even waste your time on Ford, Chevy or Dodge and drive a Titan. You will want to buy it on the spot!! The only issue I have had with the Titian is the common front brake rotor problem. Nissan is sending all dealers beefed up replacement parts for the front brake issues.

I traded an 03 Dodge 1500 Hemi Ram for the 05 Titan. Although the Dodge has a higher listed horsepower, the Titans power is much more usable, comes on sooner, and seems effortless by comparison. Fit and finish is also better on the Nissan, as is torque, towing capacity, and gas mileage. In addition, the "tow mode" switch, which raises the shift points, is a teriffic feature and makes towing almost effortless. All in all, I believe it is the best bang for the buck in the full size truck market available today.

The only negative which is covered by waranty is the interior dash rattles due to the gauges panel is filled with foam which squeaks(drives me nuts).

I just bought my 05 Titan about a month ago after owning a 06 Equinox for about 9 months and before that a 00 blazer for 5 yrs. I had 2 have my 4x4 back!! This truck is awesome. Very comfortable and actually handles better than my previous vehicles!!My sister had one before me and she loves her also. The fuel economy is the ONLY thing that I hate. Right now mine is averaging 12.5 mgp. Stinks, but the horsepower this truck has is incredible. I have only got to drive in a few snows this yr with it but it has done excellent. I would recommend this truck to anyone but if youre looking for fuel economy, his is not it. Overall though, I absolutely love this truck and would buy another one!!

2006 titan 4wd/LE. have truck for 1 month and 1000 miles. Love performance. Gas mileage on first tank was 13.5mpg mostly city. 16.5 on hwy at 75 mph with only 700 miles on engine. Will use the bed extender on next trip and see gas milage with tailgate down. So far, the EPA estimate is fairly accurate. Ill see what the truck gets when I get the engine broken in and some miles on it. If one has ideas for increased mpg. Let me know. Did alot of research and I think the Titan is the best truck on market. Will reevaluate at 10,000 miles.
