This Year's Model Updates:

Crew cab models receive a standard power up/down rear window with defroster, while all models get a tailgate with dampened assist. Other changes include new active head restraints for the driver and front passenger, new badging on the front doors and a unique wheel finish for SE models. The LE receives brushed aluminum interior trim accents and a leather-appointed bench seat is available in place of the buckets. The popular spray-in bedliner is now available as a stand-alone option on the XE.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

  • a lemon - 2005 Nissan Titan

This truck has cost me more in the 42,000 miles I have put on it than any other truck I have every owned. bought first truck in 1972. Nothing but high priced problems. Doors freeze shut $650.00 kit to fix both doors.no warranty. Both rear seals leaked at 18,000 covered by warranty. Power steering lines needed replace at 25000, no warranty. rear seals and rear axle need replace at 36,000 only cost of axle covered $900.00 for rest. Soaked brakes shot replaced $600. no warranty. front brakes replaced at 40,000 $700 no warranty. If I go for an oil change you know it will be a min of $500 when they get done fixing everything else they find.

  • Dodge Ram no match for the Titan - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

I recently purchased a new 2005 Nissan Titan King Cab, and I truly love it. After ditching my 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, the Titan is a breath of fresh air compared to the bucket of bolts of the 4.7 V8 of the Ram. The power of the truck is amazing and the gas mileage is already better than the Ram, althought it is nothing to get excited about. Averaging 15-17 so far. Comfort is nice, but the controls are a little weird to get used to. I love the way the back doors open out to 180 degrees. The tailgate feature is a real plus also, taking only one hand to open and shut it. It rides like a cloud on the highway and has NO problem when it is time to make a pass. Nissan quality is all I ask.

This is the first truck Ive even ownwed or driven.I just love it. It is wonderful! I dont have to clear out the driveway fill with snow any longer I just drive right over it and the ride is wonderful. I even got my 94 year old Mom into the front seat and she had a ball!!!The seats pick up in the back and our Lab can jump right in and take a spin with us....And Home Depot here I come! No long will I have to make five trips with the car for house items everything just fits in the cab just right.and so easy to clean out. Plus I found out that no one cuts me off on the road any longer or for that matter gives me a hard time at all in the truck Take this truck for a test drive and see!!

  • Excellent compitition for thr big three - 2005 Nissan Titan

The big three have something to worry about. My 2005 Nissan Titan LE cost less than the same equiped Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F-Series, or Dodge Ram Pickup and I feel its a better built truck.

  • My Titan has been very good - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

My Titan has been very good in the time I have owned it. The gas mileage has been better than expected, especially considering the power the truck has. I have had as good as 23 miles to the gallon on the highway, and usually get at least 20 MPG. The truck rides nice and has a huge amount of space inside. We have used it to take long trips instead of our SUV because it is more comfortable and actually has more interior space.

  • Awesome truck! - 2005 Nissan Titan

Loved the truck since the day I bought it. Gas mileage as expected. Calipers were replaced in first 3 months I had it by dealership with no hassles. The 4x4 off road package makes this truck ride like a truck - especially on long distance trips on highway.

First New Vehicle I have owned, previous vehicle 84 720 Nissan 200,000 miles in 20 years. Titan runs and handles great, 15,000 miles so far. Great performance and gas mpg, smooth shifting, great ride. Love it!

Picked up an 05 LE Crew 4x4 with nav, dvd, xm, sunroof, RockFos tunes, lots more. Unbelievable value, even fully loaded. Back seat roomier than my Sequoia 2nd row (trade in), best stereo around, drives like a car although definately a BIG TRUCK. Power keeps coming and coming, cant wait to tow the toys and see how it feels off road. Only minor gripe so far is although the Nav is great, it is not has intuitive or feature filled as my Acuras. Also poor gas mileage, but I knew that coming in. Test drive all the crew cabs first, and youll still drive away with the Titan. Even die hard Detroit fans will have to think twice this time around. Thank you Nissan!

I Bought this new, thinking it would be more releiable than american made trucks. Ive owned dodge tucks and had some problems after 100k miles but my titan had problems from the start. the wrong size brake discs lead to break job at 8k and again at 15k. Im now now lucky to get 28k between brake jobs. I had problems shifting out of 4-wheel drive, not that I drive off road but simple winter storms or driving acrooss a wet back yard . THe clutch fan for the A/C caught fire in a school parking lot while at idle waiting for kids to get out of school after 18 months old. the truck sat at dealer for 2 1/2 weeks before they even started fixing it saying they never seen this problem before (2 years later had recall). The AC continues to have to be recharged. There is clicking when you switch from defrost to AC, so approx 5 hours of labor to take dash apart to fix. Check engine light came on (catalytic converter needs to be replaced- there are 4 in a Titan). Another $2600-3800. I may have bought a lemon, but I would recommend against buying this truck, new or used. pros -great looking, comfortable truck ,rides nice ,good sound system, with enough power cons -alot of maintenance problems, goes though front brakes often, small bed size
