This Year's Model Updates:

Crew cab models receive a standard power up/down rear window with defroster, while all models get a tailgate with dampened assist. Other changes include new active head restraints for the driver and front passenger, new badging on the front doors and a unique wheel finish for SE models. The LE receives brushed aluminum interior trim accents and a leather-appointed bench seat is available in place of the buckets. The popular spray-in bedliner is now available as a stand-alone option on the XE.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

  • 2005 Nissan Titan 4dr Crew LE 4X4 - 2005 Nissan Titan

I purchased the vehicle in April 05. I compared to Toyota, Ford, Chevy/GMC, Dodge and the overall value was favorable for the Nissan Titan. I was instantly pleased with the new look available options. I purchased the 4dr crew cab LE 4x4 with almost every available option (no sunroof). Price was negotiated to a good deal. It is now Dec 05, no problems with the truck. I have had it to the dealership for two oil changes, rotate and balance and some other 7,500 mile service/inspections. I did take the truck in for the brake upgrade, original rotors warped at about 5,000 miles, since the update the truck will stop on a dime, everytime. For fun, I have driven off road, 4x4 works well.

Was looking at the Toyota Tundra when I thought I would look at the Titan. Was extremely imperssed with the overall feel and size compared to the Tundra. Not that Toyota did not make a good truck, the Titian blew it away. Bigger, Nicer styling and impressive response was the key. Looks impressive and rides great. Was a Ford man, but not anymore.. good job Nissan

  • Long haul experience - 2005 Nissan Titan

Its been 2 1/2 years since I brought the Titan home with only 5 miles on the odometer. Since then more than 65,000 miles were put on the truck and the engine power just getting sweeter. The original Bridgestone Dueler tires seem to have about 20,000 more miles on their treads. I got about 18 to 19- plus MPG (2/3 of the driving was highway) with a few times of 21 MPG. Everything on the Titan remains stock with no modification, except a recently added toneau cover. The driver seat is losing its support on long trip now.

I have wanted this truck ever since they came out, and when I finally bought one, I dont regret it! The sound system, rumble in the engine, the pick-up-and-go when you want it to... everything you could want in a truck!

  • Titan Impresses Thus Far - 2005 Nissan Titan

We purchased our 05 Titan 4x4 3 mo. ago with 72K miles from a local used car lot. I looked at over 40 4x4 trucks and had trouble finding one that was well cared for and had reasonable mileage. When I saw this truck I was impressed, but some online reviews made me worry about quality and reliability. Since correcting a CEL issue and doing some minor deferred maintenance, it has been a great truck. We only use it for hauling and towing so its not a daily driver - good thing at only 13 mpg. So far so good. We pulled a 12 UHaul trailer moving my son to OH a few wks ago and the trip was great. I am loving this truck more and more each day. I hope it provides years of reliable service.

  • Great Truck! - 2005 Nissan Titan

Being a truck owner for years I found the Titan to be better than the big three. I test drove the F150 and it drove like what Id expect from a truck....a bumpy ride. The Titan is a smooth driver. Interior storage far exceeds the F150. Plus, Titan comes with a lot of stuff thats extra on the F150. I purchased the Titan even though Ford had their employee price plan opened for all buyers. The acceleration on the Titan is a bit noisy at first, but its quiet when you hit cruising speed. Even then, the noise is something Ive already blanked out. As far as gas mileage goes.....its a truck! What would you expect? No recalls in the past 3 years its been out. Not bad for a new truck.

I am considering buying a 2005 Titan SE Crew Cab 4X4. It is a 1 owner, FFV, 220,000 miles. It has had all service work done on it plus dual exhaust, bully bar, vent visors, new Falken Wild Country tires. The dealer is asking $8995 for this truck, so I am seriously considering it. I am a 65 year old male but I am a vehicle fanatic. I have had 106 vehicles since my 16th birthday, so this will be one in a long line of vehicles. All my kids are grown, so its just me and the wife. My son is into Off Roading and has a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab. Lets hope any problems have been taken care of with this vehicle.

  • Awesome truck! - 2005 Nissan Titan

Recently purchased a used Titan with only 24000 miles on it. Incredible truck with great power. Tows my 5000 lb. trailer with ease. Handles great. Super-fast. You hit the gas and the truck flies.

  • Beautiful and beastly - 2005 Nissan Titan

Out of the many vehicles I have owned, this is the best. Great power, comfortable, towing is a breeze. Best of all, the guys I know with american trucks are all realizing their mistakes. Nothing against american trucks, but for the money there is no comparison.

  • Would you expect anything less - 2005 Nissan Titan

Inital mileage appealed me! 3,500 Miles now. 4x4 SE Off Road package....11MPG mixed driving!?! Gotten better with break-in. Aver. 13 in town and 17 on hwy! My 02 Frontier v-6 4x4 5sp averaged 17.5 hwy or city. The lower finnal gear on the off road package contributes to lower MPG but adds tons for towing! Smaller wheels and taller tires increase ride comfort. I bought the soft tonneau cover......skip it! Poor quality. streatches, sags and leaks! Look for another bed cover! Lots of features standard/ not available on others. For the money, the best mid level 1/2 ton on the market! All considered, money well spent!
