The 2008 Nissan Rogue is an all-new compact crossover SUV.

Pros:
  • Very carlike driving experience, supple ride, well-crafted interior, comfy front seats, excellent brakes, sweet-sounding optional Bose stereo.
Cons:
  • Less cargo capacity and versatility than some other compact crossovers, standard CVT is a poor match for the engine, impaired outward visibility.

  • Perfect car! - 2008 Nissan Rogue

I just purchased the Rogue on Sept. 3, 2008 and so far its wonderful! It rides so smooth I can barely feel the bumps in the road. It has plenty of room for my family of 5. Its cute, peppy, and a reliable Nissan. Ive had several cars in the past but this one I refer to as my "baby". I have the pretty blue one and I love the color!

Up to now Ive driven 850 miles and car performed exceptionally well. No even small problems at all. Its fun to drive. CVT, when you are used to it, provides very smooth and comfortable ride, especially at traffic jams, and "stop and go". Brakes are excellent. Seats are comfortable, dash is elegant looking, especially at night. My Rogue is stripped down SL AWD version, so I cant say much about performance package, Bluetooth etc. The fuel economy was one of the selling points for me, and Im having about 28.5 mpg with 70/30 mix. Considering that car still is braking in, that mileage is very good. Talking about reliability, there is no issues at all yet. Everything looks like build to last

  • WORST CAR EVER! - 2008 Nissan Rogue
    By -

I hate this car so much, I would give anything for someone to crash into me and total it. I have invested so much money in fixing this car its disgusting and after you fix one thing, the other thing breaks. I bought it used with new tires and breaks and it was a very handsome car. Since owning it I have had numerous issues with the tires, I have had the drive shaft blow out on me, leaving me stranded in the middle of a city where I was alone and far away from home, breaking system problems, sensor problems, drive quality issues, heat shield issues and the windshield cracks like its no ones business. I am counting the days till its gone! I drive it in constant fear of it breaking down.

  • Very Big Disappointment - 2008 Nissan Rogue

Sorry to report that after 40 days of ownership, I have been able to drive my new Rogue less than 600 miles. Car wasnt properly prepped so it spent one day in service. Air bag control module and sensor went bad, 9 days in service awaiting back ordered part. Average city and highway mileage is about 19 MPG but cant be addressed according to dealer until 1000 mile break in period. Adage "looks arent everything" certainly applies here.

  • Rogue Rocks! - 2008 Nissan Rogue

I have had my 2008 Rogue for 2 years and have put 47,000 miles on it.I drive every day 120 miles to work and back in norhtern Colorado where we get all types of weather snow, rain. heat etc. This vehicle has been nothing short of outstanding.I never worry about the heavy snow, rain, wind or anything on my way to work.I am as comfortable in the Rogue as I am in my Camry or my Altima.I have taken it on long trips in excess of 1400 miles and have loved the performance, gas mileage up to 30 miles per gallon(avg 28.4 overall for city and highway, ) This vehicle was assembled in Japan and the Nissan quality and craftsmanship show. The Tires are Continental and have 47,000 miles on them and are like new!

  • Three month later - 2008 Nissan Rogue

Rogue gives lots standard safety including VDS, TCS let alone ABS and curtain supplemental air bags. Enough cargo space for the family errands like shopping, travel and small household items (vacuum cleaner, etc). Having safety and utility above and beyond its price tag it gives sporty look and comfort ride. Noise level is low by any standards. Three months later I am as much happy as on the day one.

  • Major Rogue Transmission problem - 2008 Nissan Rogue
    By -

I want to get the message out to all those considering buying a Rogue..DONT DO IT!! There are countless people out there myself included who after 3000 miles are having major transmission problems. Nissan is aware of the issue but cannot fix it. They know its in the transmission but they dont know what it is. Theyve replaced transmissions just to have the car come back. If you have one, what you will hear is a rattling noise when slowing down < 10 MPH. After a while it will start doing it at all speeds as mine is.

  • Extremely disappointed - 2008 Nissan Rogue

I purchased my 2008 Nissan Rouge brand new about 5 and a half years ago and have had nothing but problems. The current tally is two transmissions, two gas tanks, two gas gauges, one steering column and one speedometer at only 47,000 miles. Not only does the car have mechanical problems, but the car gets door dings and scratches if you look at it wrong! I no longer take my car on trips, even short ones and I barely trust it to get me to and from work as it has broken on this 5 mile trip! I cant wait to get into a car that I can rely on and you can bet it wont be another Nissan. Worst car I have ever owned!

  • 2008 Nissan Rogue SL AWD - 2008 Nissan Rogue

This car is truly a value. We looked at Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and the Rogue. We liked the Rogue the best... very functional, drives great, quick acceleration and it looks great! We are very happy with our choice!

  • Good Choice! - 2008 Nissan Rogue

Needed to buy a 4cylinder (sigh) as gas prices are SKY HIGH in Hawaii. So glad I chose the Rogue SL. It handles like a sedan except its higher above the road - like an SUV. Turning radius is fantastic. Gas mileage is good and it really is FUN to drive! Bose system w/6 CD changer is a winner.
