Nissan's premier sports car has been resurrected after a six-year absence. Possessing excellent handling and power, the 2003 Nissan 350Z comes with a price tag that is thousands less than the competition's.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, impressive handling, offers a lot of bang-for-the-buck.
Cons:
  • Lack of luggage space, cruise control not available on base model.

  • A REAL SPORTS CAR - 2003 Nissan 350Z

Have owned a 240, and 300Z, but this car tops them all in brute power and handling.Am always telling myself to keep it cool. My wife loves the way the seats wrap the body; she "gets respect" when she drives, and she also loves to drive the car. We get 37 MPG when we go to Las Vegas from San Diego and back. The seats are more comfortable for traveling long distances than the previous versions. This is a keeper.

After three months with the new 350Z the new car feeling has started to fade but the sheer fun of driving the 350Z is still way up there. A periscope would be nice for backing up and lane changing but it is, after all, a sports car and you have to accept a few minor inconveniences unless youre Bill Gates. Im not Bill Gates. The engine is just incredible with its strong pulling power from any gear at any speed but second and third will put you right back in your seat when you press the fun pedal. The performance edition does not have the Brembo brakes but when you decide youve had enough, the standard brakes still bring the car to a stop quickly and smoothly.

Great performing car! However, there are issues. One only has to go to 350Z forums to hear of the many problems the Z has: sever feathered front tires that need to be replaced every few thousand miles, pourpousing on cement highways, bad alignment, manual trans being replaced several times, front seat moves while cornering just to name a few. In general Nissan has not addressed these problems. Many Z owners have filed formal notices with the NHTSA, wich are vewable on http://www- odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complai n/complaintsearch.cfm I would check with your dealer and other owners before purchasing this car.

  • Best bang for the buck - no question - 2003 Nissan 350Z

My goal was to find the best performing/fun to drive car. I ended up with the 350Z. The Z is a ton of fun to drive: from its throaty exhaust, to its extremely low stance and amazing handling... For those who need a backseat: see the Infiniti G35.

I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL BMWS INCLUDING A 2001 M3, AND OVERALL MY 350Z IS THE MOST EXCITING, EYE CATCHING CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. I HIGHLY RECOMEND IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET FOR A SPORTSCAR.

Cons: We are having nothing but MAJOR problems with the car. STAY AWAY. 1)We are in the process of having the ENGINE REPLACED. It has 14K miles on it. The engine is burning oil and requires more work than NISSAN thinks it is worth. 2) There is a major problem with many of these cars in the suspension causing the alignment to go off prematurely ruining the tires. NISSAN is quietly panicking over this 3) Had a stabilizer problem. Now fixed

  • some issues with 2003 model - 2003 Nissan 350Z

I had this car for 3-1/2 years - just sold it today. Loved it for the first two years, but the following bothered me: 1. airbag light kept malfunctioning. 2. front tire problems, which the dealership was supposed to inform me of, but didnt. 3. tires kept losing pressure for no apparent reason (separate from #2). 4. fuel line/filter recall. 5. No Visibility to sides and back of vehicle.

  • 24000 miles on mine - 2003 Nissan 350Z

I love this car like a child but like any child it has its problems. Front tires replaced under warranty TWICE for the alignment/tire wear problem. New tranny at 21,000 miles, dealership said it was preventative. Okey dokey. Brake squeek (they might have finally fixed it after 3rd try). Power window switch broken. AC compressor busted. etc. . .etc. Trying to sell it. Low, low resale value (all these problems maybe?)

  • Worth The Wait - 2003 Nissan 350Z

I waited a long time for a sports car comfortable for a big guy 63" [minus pwr seats] and affordable for a working guy. This is my car!! Almost purchased a Z4 [+$10k], passed on Boxster [cramped under the wheel],Audi TT [stands for too tiny], selected the Z350. It looks beautiful in black. (2) Golf bags only with drivers pulled. Im OK with that!! Both bags are mine!!
