This Year's Model Updates:

Enhancements for the 2005 Nissan 350Z include a standard tire-pressure monitor, heated outside mirrors and a driver-seat height adjuster for both front and rear portions of the bottom cushion. Clutch pedal effort has been reduced this year, and the five-speed automatic transmission now features downshift rev matching. The navigation system has a faster processor for improved route calculation times. A special 35th Anniversary edition includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, available two-tone leather seats and a choice of three exterior colors, including a new Ultra Yellow. A slight bump in horsepower is also part of the package.

Pros:
  • Smooth and powerful V6 engine, excellent handling, available drop-top version, a bargain compared to anything that can run with it.
Cons:
  • Rough ride on Track model, some low-grade interior materials, lack of luggage space, poor rearward visibility.

  • Z Roadster - 2005 Nissan 350Z

Nothig but a good time so far. Still turns heads and averages 24 MPG. The Z eats tires though so be prepared to change out every other year. The grip on turns is ferocious, this is where I usually pass everyone up. Hard to question the bang for the buck quotient with the Z. Especially the roadster. Are there cars with better interiors and stereos...sure, but for under 40K this one is hard to beat.

Excellent engine, and aside from a notchy feel, excellent manual transmission. Gets looks no matter where you are, and will dust anything aside from GTO or Mitsubishi Evo. Handling is excellent, and the car is one of the most solid feeling on the road. All in all, a successful advance from the excellent 300ZX.

It makes driving so much fun. It is everything I would ever have expected it to be and more. I have driven Nissans for years. I had a 280Z, and a few Maximas but the 350Z if by far the best one Ive owned.

Just traded my 04 FX45 for my first Z, and love my outcome! Couldnt have made a better decision. The exterior rocks and the comments and wow factor from others is much more than the FX. The exhaust amazing. The stock stereo/speakers are a lot to get used to after having a Bose system. Probably have to replace as it looks and sounds low quality. The red exterior rocks. Im loving my Zed!!!

Fun to drive and excellent build quality. The handling and the power are superb. If you want a sportscar that doesnt break the bank and still delivers the sports car experience, this is it. Even the trunk is well done. You can actually put golf clubs in it. The rag top is easy to use and provides a great open air experience. Could use a better arm rest and a glove box.

With this little jewel you will love to leave and go. It handles and proforms as well as the looks you will receive.

September, 2012, I was lucky enough to find a 2005 350Z with just 10,500 miles. I bought it from a retiree that garage kept it from day one. In 1.5 years Ive already added 20K miles because I want to drive it everywhere I go. It could be a little faster but with 300 horses, its hard to complain about. It also draws a lot of looks and I get compliments often. Mine is Daytona Blue and the color really pops. I did replace the Bose stereo but theres nothing else you can do to make this car any better. The gas mileage in the city isnt great, around 19mpg, but I took it on a 1,500 mile trip, all highway with the AC on, and got an average of 31mpg, believe it or not.

Great fun car. Power, handling, brakes are excellent. Suspension is stiff but this is what you get with a car that is glued to the road. Great combination of straight-ahead speed and cornering capabilities. When applying the brakes, watch out for cars coming from behind you; no way they can slow as rapidly as you can. Exhaust sound is cool - reminds me of an Austin Healy 3000! You have to 50 years old to remember that car. Only problem is that on the interstate I cant tell if Im going 70 or 90 mph without looking constantly at the speedometer. Too many speeding tickets verify this comment. By the way, 70 to 90 acceleration is way good!

Great fun to drive. Tremendous turning radius. Very nimble and handles corners superbly.

  • Warning: Do not buy this car for now - 2005 Nissan 350Z

My tires are feathering on the insides after Nissan did re-alignment several times and it still prematurely wore out. The car drifts to the right immediately when i drove my car the 1st week i got it. There are structural problems of suspension ,expect a loud roar from your tires. Nissan only will prorate your tire eventhough the warranty is still valid. Poor customer service, lack of respect for customers. 3rd gear grind had to get transmission replaced, headlights condensate on the inside which dealer wont fix.
