This Year's Model Updates:

Both 2004 Mini Cooper trims offer a new three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. A rear power socket returns as a standard item, and beige leather sport seats are now available. A digital speedometer readout has been added to the electronic display, and an instantaneous fuel-consumption function has been added to its on-board computer.

Pros:
Cons:
  • Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

Car has had 4 different software loads to fix stalling problem which is just one of the 39 different issues with this car (15 are repeat issues like the air bag system failure - 3 times). Car has been to the dealer 18 times in 16 months and is there now. I suggested the dealer put it in the recycle bin this time.

This vehicle preforms well, is fun to drive, and is wonderfully unique. After driving the MINI Cooper, driving a "normal" vehicle seems very lacking.

Great car to go zipping around in. comfortable on long trips, and good on gas. Makes us pack lighter since not much trunk room. Xenon Headlights work great! Can see all around you! Will never buy another car without heated seats now that I have them.People seem to always smile when they see you coming, less road rage for sure! Teenagers dont mind being seen with Mom in this car! Looking for second MINI

There is just not a better car than then MINI Cooper S for fun at a great price. I sold a Nissan 300ZX to buy this car, and am very happy with the decision.

Crisp handling is what we are told that separates Mini Cooper from its competitors. I whole hardily agree. The car has a feeling of being glued to the road. After having been told that 17" wheels and 205/45 were stiff and unforgiven I would say that on our roads in the Pacific Northwest dont exhibit this conclusion. Quality of materials is good, but the facia is quite plasticy. Powerful heated seats are too powerful, but that said your bum and back are toasty after only a minute or two. Im surprised at the auto air conditioning system which seems to be much better than on my 2000 Audi A 6.
