Both 2004 Mini Cooper trims offer a new three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. A rear power socket returns as a standard item, and beige leather sport seats are now available. A digital speedometer readout has been added to the electronic display, and an instantaneous fuel-consumption function has been added to its on-board computer.

• Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

  Every time I get in the drivers seat I want to pull onto the race track! This car is so much fun. I turns heads every time I drive it...Corvette and Porsche owners want to race. To date, I have been quite pleased with the mechanics of my MCS. It has performed flawlessly. Only complaint is the required high octane fuel costs and the clunky gearbox (I drove a Honda before...noted for its smooth gearbox).

  My MINI Cooper S is like a go kart with a great engine. I think this car is the best ever and I traded in a 2005 Ford F-150 Supercrew for it! I would get another MINI again without any hesitation. It handles great and has a great power band. Get the 6-speed transmission, which gives you full control.

  Well guys, I didnt even tried the jetta and accord after I went into my MINI. The car runs really good, so far no problems (into my first 1k miles); the seats are a little uncomftable after a while but the ride is incredible.

  I think that the mini cooper is one of the greatest cars. It is fun to drive. I love how low it is to the ground.

  Bought this for my wife for Christmas. We had an SUV but her sports car before the SUV I could not even fit in. Im 62 and I have no problem driving the new Mini as I even have to move up the seat to drive it. On the passenger side there is tons of room. Excellent sports car for a tall person and my wife just loves it.

  Glad we spent a little more and got the S series w/ Navi! If you live in a dense urban setting, or you just like to explore without getting lost every time, the Navi is a must. Incredibly FUN to drive, terrific to manouver in city traffic. Our 6 speed Mini rocks. I am almost 6 5" and can easily drive this. Other car is a BMW 330ci and the Mini really stands toe to toe with a 35K+ sports coupe, minus the shock absorbing vibration over rough roads. Surprised how many Minis are popping up here in Houston! Absolutely happy with purchase and BMW service is great.

  Went from an SUV to a MINI - 2004 Mini Cooper

  My 2004 MINI Cooper S Hatchback has literally put fun back linto driving. Its handling and acceleration are awesome.There is definite BMW in its heritage. The fit and finish are superb. So far in 9,000 miles I have not had any real problems. My only complaint is some lack of power with the A/C on.
