The big news for the 2005 Mini Cooper is the arrival of the convertible in both regular and S flavors. Stylish as ever, the drop-top Mini seats four and still has a trunk big enough for a few bags. Other changes include slightly revised front and rear fascias and some reworked option choices. The vanity mirrors are no longer illuminated, a universal remote transmitter is now available and a leather-wrapped steering wheel is now standard. The S version gains 5 horsepower and 7 pound-feet of torque, as well as an external temperature display. Both the five- and six-speed manual transmissions feature shorter gearing this year to improve acceleration. A six-speed automatic transmission will become available on the S versions later in the model year.

• Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

  My Mini Cooper is my sixth convertible...and it is the BEST one yet. It handles like a dream even she likes to fly. This is by far the best car Ive ever owned. PS: my boyfriend owns/ d rives vintage muscle cars and he loves to drive the MINI too.

  The S Cooper is not only fun to drive, it is practicle. Everyone that sees it or has an opportunity to drive one, wants one. We are looking forward to the new Mini Cooper S models coming out. We will probably add a second one to our family next year. When they build a 4 door Cooper S, we will immediately order one.

  I waited 3 months for my 2005 MINI Cooper S Cabrio and it was worth the wait!!! I have not been disapointed. In fact, Ive been grinning like the Cheshire cat for the past two weeks. Every day I have been approached by someone commenting on it: "Classiest Cooper Ive ever seen!" "Way Too Cool, Thumbs UP!" "What is it?" "I WANT YOUR CAR, REALLY BAD!" "Hey! Youre driving my car!" "Love your car!" I feel like a celebrity, may have to get a press agent if the attention keeps coming! The fun factor in the MINI is way off the chart! But in the end it is also a well-built solid car with great safety features and way better fuel economy than my hubbys SUV. You dont just drive it, you wear it!

  I purchased this vehicle new and use it mainly to run around town in. I have in it for service one time with no major problems. The only problem I have ever had was the rear hatch had a problem staying closed. They fixed it.A great car, a great price, I would certainly purchase another one.

  I just picked up a slightly pre-owned 2005 Mini Cooper S. Im here to tell you that I absolutely love it. I had a chance to sit in one of these cars at an auto show earlier this year. I never guessed to give it a try because Im a big guy. I tell you what, I had loads of room left over. Ladies and gentlemen, this is a sports car. So dont complain about space or convenience. You dont buy this car for those things, you buy a Honsa Civic. You buy the Mini for fun and thats what it is, FUN, with a capital "F" baby. Its very quick on its feet and handles like there is no possibility of slidinig. Sure its stiff but its supposed to be, again its a Sports Car...and I am LOVING it, Giddy Up!

  Absolutely the most efficient and fun car to drive. It is safe and fuel economy the tops. The space inside the car is abundant. I dont feel intimidated by tractor trailers when I am driving. I usually dont like regular cars as I drive a GMC Safari in the winter and like to sit up high when I drive but the MINI is the perfect car for me. I do garage my car for the winter, but I see so many that I feel they do great in all types of wheather. I recommend it to every one.

  I love this car all around! This vehicle is fun to drive the style is like nothing Ive ever seen and I love the fact that I can be unique with my car. I dont know any other car that matches it.
