Overview & Reviews
For their second season in the U.S. market, the 2003 Mini Cooper and Cooper S will now come with a second remote key and pre-wiring for a dealer-installed alarm system. Anthracite (smoke gray, that is) interior trim is available as a no-cost option for both cars, and the Cooper S is eligible for the high-gloss silver interior treatment found in the base Cooper. Sound systems will be satellite radio-ready this year, and the rear cargo area now has a power point.
- The thrill of owning a piece of history with modern underpinnings, BMW-engineered suspension and steering, chock full of comfort and safety features, hatchback utility, scheduled maintenance on-the-house for 3 years/36,000 miles.
- Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, price goes up quickly with options, limited supply encourages dealer mark-up.

You will not regret this purchase! - 2003 Mini Cooper
By jujuzulu - January 20 - 8:20 amThis car has been incredible! It is enjoyable, gets great gas mileage and I bought mine back when everyone stopped me to see "What in the heck is that?" youre driving. (Fun, at first but ultimately a bit cumbersome! Although once I started talking about it, couldnt stop smiling!). The run flats have been a nice asset, as that has been my only problem in 5 years of ownership---2 flat tires! Motor on, MINI!

Mini Cooper S (chip-tuned) 200 Hp - 2003 Mini Cooper
By Ferdinand Hinloopen - December 17 - 10:00 amDear readers, Recently I bought myzelf a Mini Cooper S. The power was ok but I chip-tuned the Mini in the Netherlands by Braspenning. Now I have got 207 HP and 255 Torque (at 3500). The car is absolutely fabilous. The sound, the fun to drive and acceleration is really big fun. Driving at 100 Kph (60 mph) in third gear and than: step on the gas! Wooo, you will be launched! than go to 4 and 5th gear, look at the speed (above 200 kmh!) This is now a BMW/Mercedes/Audi beater. fun, fun and fun. Wonderful car! A wanahave.

The Best Hatchback Available - 2003 Mini Cooper
By Alejandro - November 26 - 10:00 amI can sum up my mini cooper S with three phrases, Fun, Quality and Good Value. BMW did not hold back from giving the mini the technology and design it does for its big boys (700 series) This car is fun to drive everyday. I never imagined thought that I would get so much attention from other folks. Hence the styling success. For the first 6 months of ownership I would at least 1 person if not 3 people stop me to chat about my mini cooper S. I look forward to many years of motoring pleasure.

Totally Fun!!!! - 2003 Mini Cooper
By Chuckie - October 21 - 2:00 amI was in the market for a new car when its stylish looks caught my eye. 2 minutes into the test drive and I knew I had to have a Cooper S that day. No car I have ever driven is tighter around a turn. Better acceleration than I expected from a small car. Comfortable (LOVE those heated seats). Seats hug you when accelerating around a bend. Plenty of front seat room. Engine purrs. Brakes great. Cant drive it enough... Wish I had a longer commute to work. Go with the S version. Worth it. Fun!!!

Love the Car - 2003 Mini Cooper
By John - September 20 - 5:23 amThe Mini Cooper holds the road like a magnet. Has great responsiveness and engine bite. It is excellent on winding roads in my area, as well as on the highway. The amenities in the interior make it feel like a luxury car. It brings me back to my TR4A days, only no rust or oil leaks.
