Both 2004 Mini Cooper trims offer a new three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. A rear power socket returns as a standard item, and beige leather sport seats are now available. A digital speedometer readout has been added to the electronic display, and an instantaneous fuel-consumption function has been added to its on-board computer.

• Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

  For the most part I have absolutely loved being a Mini owner. I got the car with 39k i think and now I am at over 90k and havent had any real problems out of it. I really wish that it was easier to work on. Im a 24 yr and am not made of money to go to the dealer every time I need to change the oil. I havent had any tranny problems like all the other comments, but Im guessing that theirs is automatics.

  Excellent performance, and fun to drive. Interior is not up to expectation. constant rattle buzz problems. Windshield developed stress crack which was not covered by warranty. After the windshield was replaced there is a constant squeaky sound from the passenger side of the windshield.

  The transmission died on this car with only 54K miles on it. Had a rebuilt installed (these do not come cheap) and less than a year later, having problems again. Im so incredibly disappointed; Ill never buy another one.

  Great car. Fun to drive. 12,500 miles one minor problem. Had the hatchback latch adjusted. Thats it.

  Quite simply put, there is no other car like it on the road. Well-built, packed with features only found on high-end luxury cars, unmatched handling, and absolutely the most fun you can have behind the wheel. Youll be looking for excuses to go somewhere just to drive it.
