Overview & Reviews
Both 2004 Mini Cooper trims offer a new three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. A rear power socket returns as a standard item, and beige leather sport seats are now available. A digital speedometer readout has been added to the electronic display, and an instantaneous fuel-consumption function has been added to its on-board computer.
- Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

I love this car - 2004 Mini Cooper
By N. Warren - November 4 - 2:00 amThis is my first new car, ever, and I cant believe I waited until I was 41 to buy one. The MINI is cool - handles great, looks cute, very comfortable on the inside, and much roomier than you think. It is very peppy, and you cant beat that BMW engine.

Why my wife loves her Mini - 2004 Mini Cooper
By kuznetsov - October 29 - 2:00 amThis is actually my wifes car. She "loves it because its fun to drive, very responsive, and you can park it just about anywhere." I like the extensive safety features.

Two Coopers in one family - 2004 Mini Cooper
By Willie Hank - September 16 - 2:00 amMy wife purchased her 03 Mini Cooper in September, 2003. We both fell in love with the retro 60s car. I took delivery of my 04 Cooper S in December 2003. We both have had flags installed on the roof, also known as the " palet." We have done a few performance upgrades as well.

Best car ever! - 2004 Mini Cooper
By ksunshine11 - August 7 - 11:55 pmI bought a 2004 base cooper with 90,000 miles on it and I couldnt be happier! Getting 36-38 mpg average, and I dont drive like a grandma! I did my research beforehand, learned cvt transmissions and standard automatic transmissions have major problems, but standard manual is fine. Also the supercharged have water pump and cooling system issues, they do have 60 more horsepower (but only .2 sec faster than base, wth?) Repair cost are about the same as any other car, just dont take it to the dealer! But DO stay on top of maintenence. Go for the base manual, you wont be disappointed!

Great car but... - 2004 Mini Cooper
By johnd - August 6 - 9:50 pmGreat car, fun to drive. Cute as a button however, we are noticing some build quality issues. At 40K, radiator leaked, replaced battery 2 times, new belt tensioner, new engine seals. I dont know if the mechanic knew what he was doing but I found out the dealer sold his dealership shortly thereafter and all new people are working there now. Not too happy with the repairs.

cooper S - 2004 Mini Cooper
By mini owner - July 31 - 10:00 amso fun, very reliable. complete joy to drive. rips around corners. very tight handling, suspension. U like a soft and squishy ride? this is not the car for you. carries 4 ok, 2 great. solid construction. vry roomy interior. fold down back seats make for good carrying capacity. buy rubber boot liner. really comfy seats. beautiful design. gas mileage pretty good w/ S. optional cold weather package, heated seats good.premium sound package is worth it.sunroof too. regrets - not opting in for some of the extended warranty packages they offer e.g., exterior damage. Nothing wrong with the car, just the other drivers on the road.Gripes are with the interior trim.

Driving is fun again - 2004 Mini Cooper
By bajaarizona - July 25 - 10:00 amThis is as much fun as I had at 16 in my first car, an MG TD, except that its also civilized and reliable, and a whole lot faster and more maneuverable.
