Both 2004 Mini Cooper trims offer a new three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. A rear power socket returns as a standard item, and beige leather sport seats are now available. A digital speedometer readout has been added to the electronic display, and an instantaneous fuel-consumption function has been added to its on-board computer.

• Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

  I bought a "luxury" Mini for my wife; Gold, CVT, every option except navigation. Even with the CVT this car is fun to drive but we have had four trips to the dealer for unschedualed maintenance. Things like the horn quit, the window lifts squeeked -loud, dashboard was replaced, plastic seatback cover replaced, Tire pressure sensors replaced, radio replaced, sunroof leak fixed, and more. BMW may own the company, and may have designed the car but.....It is a "BRITISH CAR" through and through.

  FUN FUN FUN I love my MINI Cooper S. Girls Love it too. The Miles per gallon is high, but not as high as the smiles per miles you get

  2004 Mini CVT - 2004 Mini Cooper

  Current mileage is 2000; no problems to date. It has a small car ride, however handling is excellent. This vehicle has an automatic trans, CVT, to be specific.The CVT takes some getting used to if you are familiar with the usual auotmatic trans found on most cars. I have found no problem merging on expressways, or in keeping up with traffic. Gas mileage is improving with use; I am currently averaging 30 mpg on my daily commute. 30% city, 70% highway.

  The handling of my 2004 MINI Cooper Hatchback is great amd its fuel consuption is outstanding. I get 38 MPG at under 70 MPH. Is a little under powered though, I should have gotten the S model, but still runs well. The Harmon Karden stereo is unbeatable. So far I am very pleased with this car.

  Looking for a drivers car that didnt break the bank, the Mini S cant be beat. Each time you slip into the leather seats, pop the sunroof and hear the throaty response of the exahust, you begin smiling. Once you actually zip off the mark and pull a quick corner (all within the speed limit, of course), the grin hits your lips and doesnt stop till youre parked and flip the unlock toggle to end your latest fun journey - to the store, work, or a weekend away. Simply a joy to drive in every way.

  Car drives like a higher priced sports car. Handling is fantastic, wicked tight.The 6 speed is perfect on the highways! Over 160 horsepower, allows me to pass in 6th with a huge amount of room for pickup! Clutch is smooth. Sticks to the road around corners no matter what speed you take them. Gas milage on my long commute is fantastic 28-35,depending on weather conditions. Believe it or not, I will at times drive my family of four around town with this car, with no one being squished in anywhere. You can really feel the BMW-ness of this car when you are inside driving it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Great car with great performance. Enjoy the ride except can be jarring especially over rough roads.

  Simply the best vehicle I have ever purchased. Ive owned VWs, Acuras and Hondas - none of them have been as problem-free as my MINI. ...30 mpg is a plus too.
