Both 2004 Mini Cooper trims offer a new three-spoke leather sport steering wheel. A rear power socket returns as a standard item, and beige leather sport seats are now available. A digital speedometer readout has been added to the electronic display, and an instantaneous fuel-consumption function has been added to its on-board computer.
- Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, some low-grade interior materials.

By Joe - September 17 - 1:20 pmI agree on the first post regarding pep. With the CVT tranny I put it in, my Mini shifts itself at 6,000 RPM. It has plenty of snap! Maybe the reviewers were afraid to push it. You can push it. It takes it well. This car handles like a banshee! I love it! My next one is an "S" with a 6-speed transmission. If youre thinking about buying one, do not hesitate unless you need a back seat.

A blast to drive - 2004 Mini Cooper
By phuuf - August 19 - 2:00 amOwned for just over 2 months. Way too much fun to drive. We find it very comfortable. Its not made with a lot of storage space in mind, but the car is not meant for that purpose either. We find the power fine four our driving. Pickup in first gear is a little lagging, but once the rpms get up in 1st gear, power is great. Miles per gallon - weve averaged just under 30 mpg for the 10 weeks weve owned it.

So much so, that my wife bought one too. And buying two vehicles at the time give us a discount at the dealership as well as a great deal on car insurance. I highly recommend this car to anyone looking for practical, reliable and fun to drive vehicle.

By Capt54 - April 9 - 10:00 amThe Cooper S is the closest thing one can own to a street legal race car.A fun to drive car that will not break ones bank account.I have enjoyed driving my S on curvey back roads and on hours of interstate driving.In both cases the car is well suited for the job.BMW has nice job of equiping the MINI with enough luxury features to make most any journey pleasurable.
