For their second season in the U.S. market, the 2003 Mini Cooper and Cooper S will now come with a second remote key and pre-wiring for a dealer-installed alarm system. Anthracite (smoke gray, that is) interior trim is available as a no-cost option for both cars, and the Cooper S is eligible for the high-gloss silver interior treatment found in the base Cooper. Sound systems will be satellite radio-ready this year, and the rear cargo area now has a power point.

• The thrill of owning a piece of history with modern underpinnings, BMW-engineered suspension and steering, chock full of comfort and safety features, hatchback utility, scheduled maintenance on-the-house for 3 years/36,000 miles.

• Not enough horsepower in base model, questionable seat comfort, not much room for passengers and cargo, price goes up quickly with options, limited supply encourages dealer mark-up.

  I started researching the Mini last year when it came out. I am so glad I purchased one. I drive the CVT (automatic) which is great. It is so much fun to drive. It handles well and gets terrific mileage. Its easy to park. It has so many luxury car features. I love it!!

  Only had a few months. This is my wifes car and if I could I would buy one for myself. Its like learning to drive all over again. Outstanding pick-up,front leg room, and Its so solid it weights more than my Honda Civic.

  I HAVE A 2002 MINI COOPER STD. LIKE THE DRIVE GREAT HANDELING BUT HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH RANDOM STALLING. HAVE TRIED TO RESOLVE ISSUE WITH ENGINEERS@ BMW NO RESOLUTION, CONVINCED THAT IT IS MY "DRIVING STYLE." WHEN IN SERVICE DEPARTMENT ( I EXPERENCED THIS @ 2 BMW SERVICE DEALERSHIPS) BE READY TO GET TREATED AS AN ALIEN, OR A RED HEADED STEP CHILD. IF THE MINI REP IS NOT AVALABLE GOOD LUCK HAVING A BMW REP HELP WITH SERVICE. THERE OVERWHELING RESPONSE IS..... " I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MINIS." OTHER THAN THAT GREAT CAR WHEN IT IS NOT IN THE SHOP. PEOPLE LOVE TO LOOK AT YOU WHILE DRIVING! EYE CATCHER!

  My father was a car dealer, so while growing up I drove just about everything. The MINI is the best car I have EVER had! The engineering, reliability, and performance match anything I have driven - but all the road tests and reviews already prove that. BUT the REAL pleasure in owning a MINI is just driving it! I have been a licensed driver for 33 years and I am having FUN behind the wheel once again!

  I feel right at home in the drivers seat of my MINI. As though the car were built just for me. Design is eyecatching, both interrior and exterrior. Handling? Ive never felt mor "ONE" with a car! Responds to my every command with ease and elegance. Even a 500Km road trip is a breeze...normally I cant wait to get to the nearest burger place while traveling up the 400! Rarely need to fill up-tremendously fuel efficient. LOVE all the attention I get at stop lights, parking lots, even on the hwy! MINI Downtown was very helpful and made me feel comfortable in my purchase...I bought the car after about 30 minutes in the showroom! This car is so ME!

  I love my mini. Has really good acceleration. It handles well, in turns, on road. Excellent and smooth ride on street and highway. Engine is nicely designed. Roomy enough interior. Nice interior design. Excellent heat and air. Good design overall.
