This Year's Model Updates:

This four-door "coupe" from Mercedes-Benz, known as the CLS, gets more power for 2007, its sophomore year. The standard model becomes the CLS550. The number change indicates the V8 is now a 5.5-liter unit. It delivers 382 horsepower, 80 more than the output of last year's V8. Additionally, the high-performance CLS63 AMG replaces last year's CLS55 AMG and brings more power as well -- 507 hp compared to the previous 469 hp. Newly standard are a Harman Kardon premium audio system (with six-disc CD changer) and Mercedes' "PreSafe" collision-mitigation system.

Pros:
  • Sharp and sexy exterior design, handles like a smaller car, smooth and potent V8s.
Cons:
  • Sleek lines make getting in back a little awkward, headroom tight in back for taller passengers, complicated control interface.

Took delivery of this beauty in Stuttgart. The Euro Delivery Program is highly recommended and will save you major bucks. Plus Mercedes really does a great job taking care of you. For those of you who need a 4-door but want a sports car, there isnt anything that comes close to this car. It flies and feels like its on rails through corners. When the governor maxed out on the Autobahn at 130 mph, it still felt effortless to drive. Check it out, you wont go wrong with this car.

  • Beautiful car! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

This is a beautifully made car, both inside and outside. People stare at it all the time and ask me about it. Plenty of power with the new 5.5 L engine. Braking is exceptional. The airmatic suspension gives you the best of both worlds – luxury as well as sporty. Steering wheel is more precise and firm than last year’s CLS 500. Overall, exceptional car with gorgeous lines.

  • One of the most fun cars to drive - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

Great balance between speed/sports car and luxury. Wicked fast when you want it. Super soft for cruising (highway driving is great - not like a big sedan but much smoother than similar speed sports cars). Four adults OK but a little tight. Great choice for sports car with the occational need for four adults.

Powerful car, handles beautifully. Drivers side mirror blocks some road visibility. Car "hugs" you as you drive. Very much worth the money.

  • Ballin with Balls! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

I am a sales manager at a very large dealership and i sell everything from a ford escort on up to well, a Mercedes Benz. Im only 28 years old an Ive probably owned somewhere around 30 cars since i was 16. This is honestly the first car Ive fallen in love with! I was debating over the last few months of whether i wanted to buy a luxury car or a performance car, when i drove the cls 550, i realized i could have both and made an immediate purchase.

It is difficult for me to describe just how brilliant the CLS 63 AMG is. It really is a dream car. It simply does everything! When you are stressed, tired or off to lets say the ball, it will simply drive like a very comfortable and expensive saloon. However, should you need to get somewhere quickly, its speed will leave you breathless and with a big smile on you face! It will get you from 0-60mph in 4.1 seconds if you use the paddle shifts or 4.3 if you leave it in sport mode. Only very serious supercars like a Lambo are faster. I spent about 8 months researching the CLS range and decided there was nothing out there with this combination of beauty, style, performance, and practicality.

Bought the car in Aug of 07. I bought the car as a weekend car and pretty much only drive it on the weekends. the car is very powerful and very fun to drive. The tranny is a little jerky at low speeds. The exhuast note is lovely and the looks of the cars is stunning. I have had both women and men tell me the car is sexy. The car is definitely an eye turner and the stop light to stop light power is heart pumping! This car will get you into trouble real quick! I hope you enjoy it if you decide to buy!

I purchased this car 2 weeks ago and Ive already had to return to the dealership for a oil leak. The car only has 30,890 miles and for it to have a leak is really concerning. I love the car but the oil leak really bothers me. Im disappointed so far because the car runs great but my confidence is a little shaken at the moment.

  • 30 year Benz driver rates this one #1 - 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class

This is my 31st Mercedes and I think it may well be the best. I did not bother with the AMG because the power is simply awesome without the 507 hp engine. The 382 suits me fine. Rarely do I use the back seat so I have no comment on its comfort level, but I love the styling and feel of the car. I have owned most models of MB during the years and have always craved the sportiness of the SL and the comfort of the S. Here I have what I have always wanted.
