No fun to drive, but seems tough enough. - 2003 Mazda Truck
By MazdaOwner - December 4 - 10:00 amDecent ride, uncomfortable seating if you are over 62", Crummy Mileage (17 HWY), Plenty of power from the 4.0L but shaky idle, 88 MPH speed limiter (dyno proven) (Mazda will only acknowledge this AFTER you buy the truck), 3,000lb max trailer weight with the 4.0L and 5 speed (read: weak clutch), A/C clutch engagement feels like youve been rear ended, Good cruise control, Gas guage is horribly inaccurate...

Great little truck - 2003 Mazda Truck
By Ing - October 14 - 10:00 amLooks nice, runs great. Comfy ride; definitely "trucky," but not bouncy or harsh. Good legroom for tall people. Handles nicely in any situation. Good winter driving. Love the power of the 4- liter V6. Ive towed pretty close to 3000 pounds up the Columbia Gorge, and it shows no signs of strain; spooling up from 50 to 75 passing a slow semi uphill? No problem, not even with a fully loaded trailer.

1st truck Wow - 2003 Mazda Truck
By SunburstRed B2300 Tr - October 10 - 10:16 amI bought this truck new in AZ, no trouble with a/c, cold even at +117 degrees! Its a stick: could use more zip doing mountains, fine if you dont get stuck behind a slow truck and have to accelerate from 30 mph on 6000ft grade. Moved to Indiana, heater warms quickly, far less traction problems than full size van I drove. Not one mechanical problem, piled it high for move, over 2500 miles, very stable in winds, rain; good fuel economy with the extreme gas prices. Very nice turning ratio, good visibility overall.

Great Truck - 2003 Mazda Truck
By mazdawg03 - September 29 - 3:53 pmFirst the cons; small for those over 6, fuel economy is lacking for a small v6, DS should come standard with a limited slip and tow package, should have 6spd manual (mileage and towing would benefit), horrible Goodyear Wrangler GT/Ss that come on it, a more Mazda/less Ford interior would be nice, seats are too firm for long trips(pad fixes this) . Now PROS; RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, did I mention its been reliable? Only issue in 78,xxx + was a sensor @ 5k that was replaced under warranty with no qualms. Paint still looks new, front brakes lasted for 50k, clutch is still great, engine still peppy (although more power would be great). Great deal considering cost vs other ops.

Good Truck for the $$ - 2003 Mazda Truck
By E151 - February 18 - 2:00 amYou can get some really good deals on this truck... I got Auto with AC. Its got tons of room way more then a toyota. Ive had this truck for over 5K miles and no problems except the tires it came with were crap had them road balanced and basically unbalanceable. Mazda service SUCKS... I dont think Ill ever buy another Mazda... But, for the price, and seeing how Ill probably get a new one in 3-5 years. I think it will hold its value for a long time to come.

Year one experience - 2003 Mazda Truck
By deepwater - August 29 - 11:06 pmVery fit for purpose. I stole it for $10,900. Use it for towing an aluminum fishing boat and to haul gear on long trips to my sailboat in Florida. 30 mpg at 75 mph(!) and I never get less than 25 mpg around town :). Im 6 2" and find it very comfortable and roomy. AC will blow you away, even in New Orleans heat. I was looking for a used beater to limit miles on my Vette but couldnt find a decent one for much less than the B2300 new. Yeah, its light on power (anything is compared to my #1) but the fuel efficiency is welcome with gas @ $2+.

For the price you cant beat it. - 2003 Mazda Truck
By SeJac - April 19 - 2:00 amI have driven a 79 Ford P/UP for the past 7 years. It was aging but the gas mileage was killing me, ecspecially with prices going up. I knew I wanted to stay with a P/UP just not a big one anymore. Well I found it, and at the price I got with the rebate, I stole this Truck :-) I can fillup and drive all week on one tank of gas now, I am saving half the payment just in what I use to pay for gas in my old P/UP. If you want a small truck and didnt think you could afford one, give yourself a look at this one before the rebates end. You wont go wrong, The Lord has truly blessed me with this truck.
