  • So far, so good - 2014 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

I have had my Mazda 6 Grand Touring for 1 month. No issues so far. This is my third Mazda, and I purchased this after very positive experience with my Miata and CX-9. Before purchasing, I test drove a BMW 3 series w x-drive and turbo 4 cylinder, Hyundai Genesis, Hyundai Azera, and Mercedes CLA. Results: I was underwhelmed by the BMW experience for the $, and the fact that it required premium fuel. The Genesis was nice but felt heavy and gets mediocre fuel economy, plus it was rear drive. Mercedes CLA was OK but I did not care for the interior. With Mazda 6 equipment, it would be $40k.

  • Not quite an Audi or BMW but: WOW! - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

I wanted to replace my 2000 Altima SE with a CPO Audi or BMW since other options (Altima, Camry, Sonata and Accord) did not quite cut it for me. The VolksWagen CC was a strong option but I wanted to keep the price under 30K. Then, I came across the new M6. When I compared its features and advantages -for the price- to those of some of the luxury CPOs, I was sold. I am a spirited driver and I already own a 2001 Miata (I had also owned a Mazda 2200 Sport Truck a few years ago), so I was familiar with the brand and its characteristics. After about one week of ownership, the more I drive the car the more I like it. I am convinced that it may very well be the best in the segment.

  • Cant stop looking at it or driving it... wow... stunning automobile. - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

Wow how many superlatives are there in the English dictionary? Ive had some pretty nice midsized cars in recent years - 11 Optima EX, 12 Sonata 2.0 Turbo limited (nice turbo power) & even an 09 Mazda6 Touring (which like a great indie film excellent but under publicized), but great as these all were in their own respects, none evoked the level of pure joy my meteor gray 2014 6 touring w/tech package has! Looks are subjective but I literally cant stop looking at it & snapping photos haha! Ride remarkably smooth despite 19" rims & tight suspension. Cabin dead silent at idle road noise not that bad. Great acceleration close to Sonata turbo despite 90 less hp. Fantastic car!!!

  • One year update - still happy - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

Follow up to the three month post. Still very happy with the car. Pleasure to drive, easy on the eyes and at the pump. Made it through a South Texas summer and would prefer cloth over leatherette seats--they get pretty warm and dont breathe. That would have meant the Sport vice Touring trim, which would have removed the COMAND knob (which I play with but dont really use). I would have been OK with that since the Sport Auto includes the backup cam, which has turned out to be really nice. The smaller wheels wouldnt have been a deal breaker. Averaging about 31.5 in mixed driving.

  • Awesome Redesign - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

I just traded my 09 6 for an iTouring with the Technology package, in Soul Red. That red is gorgeous. This car is a very nice improvement over the 2nd generation. While its a touch smaller on the outside, you dont notice it at all on the inside. The engine has a throatier growl to it and you can definitely feel the extra horse power from the old one. Its way too soon for me to talk MPG, as Ive only put about 60 miles on the car so far. But the handling, ride comfort, and style is a very nice step up. The autobox is about the best Ive ever seen, and the Bose stereo sounds a lot better then the previous version.

  • Terrible technology! - 2014 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

The car is good - a little more sluggish than I expected, but still cute and fun. The problem is the technology package. After 4 months, I can say that I have given it my best shot, and it sucks. We have another car with similar features and this one is so sub-par. The touch-screen is so painfully slow, the features are clunky, entering in an address is horrible, and you can only do it while stopped - even if you are the passenger, so plan ahead! The voice control is totally useless. The Sirius radio loses the signal if you drive under a thick tree. And the phone bluetooth hook up keeps crapping out. If the technology package is important to you - look elsewhere.

  • 2014 Mazda 6-Btemest kept secretig items with oriteease.o haul b of new sedans - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

We looked at Accord,Altima,Fusion,Optima,Malibu, and others. Then I heard about the new Skyactiv Mazda 6 from a friend.Test drove our Soul Red sport and bought it on the spot.My friends think I spent big bucks as the car looks very expensive. For a base model the list of standard features is impressive.Leanst the steering stops.t agaither steering wheel, shift knob and e-brake handle are nice touches.I also liked the 1000 dollar owner loyalty rebate. This car as all 2014 Mazda 6s is built in Japan. Not too many cars are made there anymore due to the higher cost of production and shipping. The build quality is excellent.

  • One year later, and still zooming - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

Our GT is our third Mazda. We left Honda years ago for better styling and value and havent looked back. Our liquid silver with black leather is a looker. Still after one year, people stop me all the time wanting to know what kind of car it is. People have guessed Lexus, Jag, and Infiniti. I just love the car, it is my daily driver. Still puts a smile on my face every time I open the door and push the start button. No, the navigation is not perfect, but are any of them? No the screen is not too small, Im two feet from it. I dont need a flat screen on my dash. Radar cruise is COOL! Lots of features that many cars dont have for only $30K. Whats not to like?

  • impressed so far! - 2014 Mazda Mazda6

coning from an Infiniti G, this was something I never anticipated buying! I researched a lot of cars and found this to be a great value. I compared it to cars costing 10Kmore! I am 6 3" no issues with room! The new Mazda 6 is great looking, comfortable and while I just brought home a few days ago. I am really impressed!

  • A worthy contender from Mazda - 2014 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

The new 6 is a strong step forward for Mazda. The design is ambitious, the build technology is advanced, and the features are highly competitive. Even the sport is well-equipped and sturdily built. The doors feel solid and the trim and dash are constructed of high-quality, low-gloss materials. My immediate gripes are not having a good place to rest my left elbow (Im 64" so the seat is far back) a gearbox that up shifts too early, and an elevated level of cabin noise on the highway. I also am skeptical of the mpg claims since my driving so far has produced a 27 mpg average and Ive been trying to maximize. The Diesel engine ought to achieve good numbers, though.
