The car is a head-turner. Black with the optional clear taillights, brushed aluminum gas door and the 17 inch wheels really set the car off. The car has most options including the moon roof, Bose stereo (nice!), security system, ABS/Traction control etc.... I do have the automatic transmission which is a little sluggish, or non- existent, on the downshift from second to first when slowing down. This takes some getting used to especially if you need to accelerate if you were coasting at 8-10mph. Otherwise the car handles well, rides smoothly and is a blast to drive. The interior is wll laid out and the fit is very clean.

After doing alot of research for the ideal wagon, I found the Mazda6 sport wagon to be the perfect vehicle for me and my 8 year old twins. This car rides like a Cadillac, handles beautifully, is very comfortable and roomy. The radio controls are an added convience feature that I love, not having to look at my dash to adjust the volume or stations. There is plenty of leg room in the passanger side and back seats. The illuminated dash is easy to see. I love the privacy cover in the hatch. There is plenty of storage room, and the cargo holders are great for organization. It rides quietly and handles solidly. I am nothing but pleased with this vehicle.

  • Great car - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

At 3,400 miles the car was struck in the rear on a highway and sent head on into a concrete barrier at near full highway speed. Every crumple point gave and passenger compartment stayed intact. Front was gone and part of the driver rear panel was embedded in the hood of the car that hit me. Was worth every star in its 5 star rating. Super built car for safety. Going to get another.

  • I dream of BMWs - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

My ultimate dreamcar is a BMW. What can beat the handling and performance? Almost nothing, but my Mazda comes close. Having to downsize was a pity, but I wouldnt trade my mazda 6 for anything.

  • Fun to Drive & Useful - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I am a previous owner of a 2000 Grand Prix Supercharged. After driving that torque monster this car is slow off the line, but the power above 3500 is decent. This is no stoplight blaster nor is it a slug. The 2.3L has enough juice to merge and pass at speed. The suspension/handling is excellent, even on the busted-up streets here in the Northeast. Build quality is solid. I do 80% city or heavy traffic driving and this car gets the job done. I love to have cargo capacity without having to drive a big slow gas-guzzler-box. If you are looking for a fun-to-drive, versatile car with decent fuel economy, this may be the one for you.

  • Affordable BMW - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

The Mazda 6s 5-speed is a blast to drive. Although FWD, it is amazing how the precise handling and braking emulate the feeling one gets from a vastly more expensive BMW. All this and it still is a comfortable family sedan and commuter. Even loaded up, this vehicle is remarkably affordable. Terrific job, Mazda!

I purchased the Mazda 6s because I am a new Mom and still wanted a sporty looking car im only 23 so i didnt want a car that would make me feel old being a Mom and all and ever since i have had my car I want to drive everywhere I go. I have even recommended purchasing my car to a few friends who are looking to purchase new cars. In fact, my older sister just purchased the exact same car and she loves it because you feel so young and alive when you drive it. I woul;d trade my car for the world.

Wonderful family sports sedan ! Regularly have positive comments & inquiries made at the gas pump, etc. by interested strangers...Once underway, the 4-cylinder gets up and goes at speeds above 50 mph ++. Nothing like it ! The automatic/manual shift transmission is a great idea for an all around exciting driving experience in all manner of traffic and driving conditions I feel.

  • 3rd but not final Mazda - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

We still own 2 Proteges (00 & 02) with about 200,000 miles between them, with zero problems. Im 65" and need room; the Proteges and now this 04 Mazda 6i are terrific, even with adults sitting behind me. Front seat adjustments plus tilt/telescoping wheel make it easy to fit. Stability at speed like the German cars. Smooth acceleration, great shifting, solid braking, and excellent cornering. Power on tap to burn rubber, even with the I4 and still 30+ mpg highway. (No honey, I didnt burn out at the light). This car with the features that come standard beats others at twice the price (ours was under $18k out the door). Mazda is zoom-zoom and more. Get one before people "get it" and the prices go up.
