My Mazda is the best car for the price on the market. Besides the sporty look the classic 4-door appeals to all genders. The V6 is a must and the acceleration is prime during heavy traffic. I love this car and you will too.

  • Consider the mileage - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Bought a Mazda 6 wagon new in late 2004. Love the car except for 2 fatal flaws. It gets HORRIBLE gas mileage. At best 16 mpg in town and 21 on the road. Therefore I never drive it around town which is most of my driving. The mileage compares to a Hummer! The other fatal flaw is a super wide turning radius making city parking a real chore. Its very hard to get into tight urban parking spots. Ive had 2 re-calls already in under 2 years while other Hondas/Toyotas Ive owned never had any recalls. The car drives great, handles well and easily fits 4 adults and gear for a long road trip, but the awful mileage really bothers me!

I have owned this 2004 Mazda 6 V6 5 speed Automatic Wagon for about nine months. Love this car. The handling is rigid and confident. Cornering is exceptional. Autostick is fun to play with. Interior design is luxurious and comparable with German cars. Exterior design totally turn heads anywhere I go! The only down side is the fuel economy. I am getting 22 mpg average, I was expected a little more on this V6 wagon. So far, I am very happy with the car, no unexpected repairs so far. I just have been changing oil every 4000 miles (manufacture suggest 5000 miles) and also routine tire rotation and alignment.

I like how the wagon looks like a grown-up Mazda3 both in size and style. Classed-up, but still with some spunk. We have a BMW 530 wagon near identical in size, power and age, and there is absolutely no deprivation in taking the Mazda. More trunk and backseat, even. The 3.0 V6 brings the heat at high revs, but feels like much less engine at lower revs. Gutless under 2000 rpm and an absolute dog below 1500 rpm, youll need to shift often. First gear is tall and if you let the clutch in too fast itll really leave you out to dry. The engine also goes through oil and spark plugs kinda quickly, and the lack of replaceable fuel filter worries me.

  • Great car for the money - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I spent about three or four months researching cars and comparing the specs and pros and cons of nearly every mid-sized sedan, and I always came back to the 6. The brakes are very responsive as is the handling. For a sedan it takes corners like a champ. I have driven it hard and it shows no signs of slowing down or wearing out. All around a great car for those who are family oriented but still want to have a little fun on the road.

  • Better than my VW! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Traded in a 2002 Passat, 1.8T. Good decision! Got 21mpg myfirst tank (with VERY spirited driving).Second tank garnished 25 combined (200on freeway, 178 in town). Not as bad asI thought from reading these reviews(and I read all 183 of them). Power is great, handling is better. As good as my Mercedes sedan was. Test drove a Lincoln LS sport also, handles just as well as that did. Leather seats are sooo comfortable. Could do with a little less chinzy silver trim, more of the carbon fiber would look better. Blue color is very attractive. Hatchback and folding seats are great. Would recommend to anyone to buy this car.

  • Great car so far - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Acquired used 2 years ago with 28k miles & it has been very reliable thus far. Only issues Ive had are dead pixels on the LCD display (Mazda replaced unit free under warranty) & lately the throttle has been irregular on cold start which lasts until its warmed up. Performance slightly above average, as is gas mileage (in 90% city traffic). As for the iPod integration complaints, it IS possible (mine works great) - its just not easy. You need an adapter (which isnt cheap, about $200), & you need to solder a jumper on the L716 location of the HU because Mazda never made the CD changer port active in the stereo.

  • The Best Car Ive Owned - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I bought this car in June of 2004 because I was in need a good dependable vehicle. It was suggested to me that I look at the Mazda brand because of their fuel efficiency as well as their safety rating. After I checked this out I would later become the proud owner of a brand new Mazda 6. This is the best car that I have ever own and I do not plan on giving it up any time soon.
