New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.

  Oil Change Smell - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

  Great car, only thing every time I get an oil change, I get a horrible oil smell. I was told its because of the oil filter being so close to the engine pipe. This definitely should been a recall, since I am a great advertisement when my car is smoking right after an oil change during the hot summer months. It does eventually burn off after around 25-50 miles of driving. Makes the garage smell great after an oil change.

  Compared to the Mazda MPV I used to drive, this is head and shoulders above that. The acceleration wont win you LeMans, but it is more than sufficient for daily driving needs. In order to get the side impact airbags that my parents so desperately desired, the purchase of the sports and entertainment package was necessary, including Bose sound system with in dash 6 CD changer mounted on and extremely sexy center panel, side skirts, moonroof, and spoiler. The only problem I have had are flat tires, which are extremely expensive to replace. I love the red glow of the instrument panel, and the ergonomics of the drivers side is just great.

  Extremely well built, alot of features for the money. Very comfortable, tons of space. Great appearance with sport package, sport grill. Bose system is A+. Luminous gauges are beautiful! Really an exceptional automobile. Looked at the Acura TCX, Audi A4, VW Passat, Saab 9-3. V6 is smooth and very quick.

  I just bought my 6 wagon. Its great. I have so much fun. I had a Accord coupe 01. And I really liked that car. But, the 6 is a total upgrade. The handling is superb. Acceration is top-knotch. I was on the intersate the other day. And a mustang gt drove up next to me. The engine of the mustang was loud and aggresive. The driver quickly drove past me. So I said the heck. I will se what this 6 can do. I switched into manual. And I dropped into 4th gear. You thought that I had nitrous in the tank. Cause the car took off and me and the Stang were going at it. The 6 couldnt be shaken.

  When i purchased this car i think i went in thinking, wow, this is a mazda, how amazing could it really be? well, i was wrong and this car is everything its said to be and so much more. I have to admit, every single feature in the car functions so efficiently and works so well. I enjoy driving the car, the ride is perfect, the wheels are large enough to take corners with good speed and suspension supports these turns with the wheels and suspension working in supplement to one another. I suggest buying a Mazda, im not sure how other peoples sales experience went but mine wasnt amazing, the salesman was a dunce, and the business guy was pretty rude, but the car makes up for it wholly.

  Prior to purchasing the Mazda 6 I owned a 2002 Honda Civic EX and while the fuel economy was great, the Civic just wasn’t practical for me anymore i.e. size does matter. So I began searching and stumbled upon the Mazda 6 and requested a test drive. That was it. I was hooked. The Mazda 6 is a champ. Not only is it one of the sharpest affordably mid-sized vehicles on the road, it is quite the performer; very choice. May I advise anyone who is looking for an outstanding vehicle…purchase the Mazda 6. Need I say more?!

  great car i have been checking it out since i first saw it at the new york car show ,purchased after the first test drive and im getting to love it more everyday,the sports automatic is great for that little extra zip but its a little cheap of mazda that anti lock breaks and car alarm are not standard!

  The "fun to drive" rating is no joke. I love getting behind the wheel. I dream about it. I upgraded from a 00 Ranger, so it has plenty of performance for me. The 6 is a good buy for the money. I went with the luxury package, sport package w/spoiler, moonroof, and the Bose package plus a few add ons -- more features than I honestly expected to be available and my sale price was still under $25K.

  This car is amazing. My heart still beats faster each time I walk up to it. The interior is beautiful and exciting to look at each day and it gets even better at night with all of the backlit gauges staring back at you. The bright red exterior and black leather interior look great together. The 5-spd is so much fun to drive and the engine revs willingly and with a great sound. The hatchback makes this car like a mini station wagon and it is very useful. This car really satisfies all that you could need in a car, from the practical to the fantastic. I feel sad for the masses of drivers who have settled for bland, dull, boring, Accords/Camrys. Get the Mazda!
