Fun To Drive - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Kelman - June 19 - 2:00 amI have the 3.0 V-6 Mazda 6 S. This car wants to go. Youll want to drive it in a low gear around town, so that the revs are up, and the horsepower is available. At low revs, it doesnt have much snap. But if you are cruising at 3,000 rpm, you can seriously surprise some of those high-priced sedans youre running next to.

By jzn2tr - June 15 - 1:00 pmI have a 2004 S that I have now put 40,000 miles on, with no trips yet to the dealer for repairs. Had a 2003 S before that which was totaled in a wreck. I took the insurance check and immediately bought a 2004 to replace it - the best kind of statement of satisfaction. Used to drive Toyotas, but neither Toyota or Honda has any sedans that are fun to drive. This car is still fun, drives like an adult sports car. Main drawback is that, as equipped, drives very rough and noisy over rough roads. However, the original Michelins wore out after 38,000 miles and I replaced them with Goodyears, which helps quiet the ride. The 2003 I owned before was never as noisy as this one.

Poor Factory Workmanship, Fit & Finish - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By 6S Buyer - June 2 - 10:00 amPoor fit & finish, hood, bumper cover, fenders & front end accessories are out of alignment & a bent door. A loose windshield gasket and a rattle in the dash. I looked at Mazda6 cars on 3 dealer lots, each exhibiting similar poor exterior workmanship. I complained to both the dealer and Mazda corporate, all to no avail. Ignored for nearly 120 days, the Mazda factory rep finally told me that the poor workmanship "meets the factory standard." & that the bent door "may be" my fault. Examine your Mazda6, & note the hood & bumper cover alignment & the hoods over hang. I expected acknowledgement & timely service. I should have bought the Altima!

By Zeta - May 6 - 2:40 amI bought my 2004 Mazda6s from a dealership a few weeks ago. It was used, but had barely 6,000 miles and was in EXCELLENT condition. I was in love with the 6 for a very long time, and I am absolutely delighted to own one. My 6s is fully loaded, down to the leather seats, Bose Sound system and the sunroof. This car has it all, a head-turning exterior, a fun and fab interior, and the 3.0 V6 engine gives you some pep when you want it - yet still remains quiet (a lot less noisy than its competitors). I am very very happy that I purchased this car and I look forward to many great times ahead in my zoom-zoom!

I quietly looked for a late model, used vehicle and drove nearly everything out there. Plenty of used American cars, surprisingly plenty of Toyotas, Honda and Mazda were harder to find. When I drove the 6 its was perfect. Smooth, comfortable, room for my family, 30 mpg, and no up front hybrid cost.

By Jops - March 19 - 2:00 amRiddled with problems. Built-in fogging problems, rattle ,visor,alignment, etc. Buy this if you want headache. Expect to visit the dealor a lot for warranty repairs.

By rdn - March 18 - 1:13 pmThis thing is a rocket ship. The engine hums at speed. It has a great growl. The bad thing is the split personality. Gently drive this car and you feel like an old person cruizing around. Open the taps on this car and HOLD ON! It just goes. I had a Honda Civic before and this car runs a bit rougher...but this is another species altogether. The only major issue so far has been the drivers door handle which has broken...thanks to some ice and a weak spot....one morning gave it a pull and CRACK! The motor sounds awful when started and then wakes up. Need to get plugs changed... but that is normal. Would buy another.

By dtyner - March 16 - 4:33 pmBefore buying this car I had done a lot of research on cars in its class and for the money there is no car that even compares. My particular car is fully loaded and still costs less than any of its competitors. My car has the manual gearbox that shifts perfectly, and the v6 motor that has not great power but the a range of power that makes it feel sporty. The engine makes a decent note with the stock exhaust. The clutch has great feel. Stiff enough to have fun on the track but soft enough that your left leg wont shadow your right. The Handling is amazing. Very limited body roll but then road noise at highway speed is very loud. Overall a great car for the money.
