Overview & Reviews
New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.
- More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

Quickly forget its a wagon - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By mym6 - August 19 - 10:00 amI drive an automatic Redfire Sport Wagon with black cloth interior and the Bose and Sport packages. Great car for the money. Handling is superb, predictable and smooth most of the time. The engine mated with the 5 speed ATX is smooth most of the time but generally under powered for a V6. It lacks the low end grunt most Americans are looking for. Instead it offers smooth delivery that feels nearly the same throughout the RPM range. The transmission also likes to shift a bit too soon and is a bit busy between 40-50MPH, a TCM update from the Mazda dealer fixes this gripe however.

Great mid-size sedan - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By bobwilliamson - July 18 - 2:00 amAfter looking at the Camry, the Accord adn toying with the idea of getting a Ford escape instead, I ended up with the Mazda 6 - 6 cyl, Auto w/ Appearance Package. Had it for 5 months now, already have 10,000 miles on it, and every drive is fun, fun, fun.

Great Car for the Price! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Godfathr - July 2 - 10:00 amI love my Mazda6s 5-door. The engine comes to life at about 3500-4000 rpms and it flys after that! The car handles better than most cars that I have driven. For the price it is a excellent car. I personally like it better than the BMW (low end) 3 series cars because of the interior room and the engine (not to mention it saves about 5 grand). Performance and appearance mods are begining to come out and they are making this car faster and making it look better. I would recommend this car to anyone. I am very pleased with it and the service that Mazda has is unbeatable.

Sharp 6 - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By LMF00 - April 19 - 10:00 amI love my 2003 MAzda6i. As soon as i got in this car for a test drive i fell in love! The way it looked inside and out, the sporty feel, the automanual transmission, and just the little features that most car companys just look over (like the steering wheel controls)all of this made me a buyer. I love it when i go somewhere and people are looking at my car and they go "what is that?" Then they say "man that thing is sharp!" My husband and i fight over who is going to get to drive it for the day :-). As long as this car is reliable i will have it for a while.

FUN-FUN! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By sugarbums73 - April 13 - 10:00 amI love this car! It is awesome and its so much sportier than the 626 ever was, which was what I drove before. I agree Mazda is still managing to keep the ZOOM-ZOOM in their cars to make them FUN-FUN-FUN!! I especially like the 6 because not only is it fun, its safe for my 3 year old son to ride in!

2004 Mazda 6s - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By wndcty21 - April 13 - 10:00 amMy Mazda is the best car for the price on the market. Besides the sporty look the classic 4-door appeals to all genders. The V6 is a must and the acceleration is prime during heavy traffic. I love this car and you will too.

Mazda 6 - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Ricky - March 12 - 5:53 amI have owned this 2004 Mazda 6 V6 5 speed Automatic Wagon for about nine months. Love this car. The handling is rigid and confident. Cornering is exceptional. Autostick is fun to play with. Interior design is luxurious and comparable with German cars. Exterior design totally turn heads anywhere I go! The only down side is the fuel economy. I am getting 22 mpg average, I was expected a little more on this V6 wagon. So far, I am very happy with the car, no unexpected repairs so far. I just have been changing oil every 4000 miles (manufacture suggest 5000 miles) and also routine tire rotation and alignment.

Great car for the money - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By saojorge - January 17 - 10:00 amI spent about three or four months researching cars and comparing the specs and pros and cons of nearly every mid-sized sedan, and I always came back to the 6. The brakes are very responsive as is the handling. For a sedan it takes corners like a champ. I have driven it hard and it shows no signs of slowing down or wearing out. All around a great car for those who are family oriented but still want to have a little fun on the road.
