New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.
- More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

Loving My 6 - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By jose21 - April 6 - 2:00 amI bought my loaded 6 last week and each time I have been behind the wheel I just totally smile. I researched this car and many others for about 5 months. I also test drove an Acura TSX...it was very plush but with no V-6...it just could not match the performance of the 6. The low end torque has not been an issue for me. The engine pulls strong all the way to redline. It never feels strained and it sounds awesome! I am very satisfied with my decision to buy the 6.

By tbone - March 17 - 11:03 pmI am now 2.5 weeks into owning my Mazda 6 which I finnaly took the plunge when the incentives and my Ford Supplier discount made it too hard to pass-up. My Mazda 6s sedan is equipped with just about every feature available, except for the sunroof. I was disappointed that it did not have auto headlights, or delayed locks. However, I am very excited about everything else that the car has to offer. The 225 horsepower engine is fun to drive, and gives me plenty of power on my 130 mile daily commute for work. Even at 85-90 mph, there is plenty of power for passing. I am also happy with the safety features that include ABS, traction control, & 3 point seat belts in the rear.

By bikemanksks - February 23 - 2:00 amMy wife picked this car out at an auto show because of its looks, but what a treat to drive. It seems there is the soul of a sports car in this thing! The engine is an absolute jewel, the gearbox delightful, the brakes linear and responsive and the handling excellent. The small steering wheel and quick steering are a nice touch. The interior is a pleasant mix of sport and comfort with great fit and finish - surprising considering this is considered a base model!

Great - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By prionace - February 18 - 10:00 amI bought a Mazda 6i (manual) last month. The seats are comfortable and adjustable. The tilt and telescoping wheel is nice. The cabin is generally quiet. Cargo space is more than enough. The handling is great and I now understand what people mean by a car ‘communicating’ with its driver. Shifting in lower gears is a bit of a pain at times, and with low end torque not special, the car is most fun once in 3rd gear. Braking is solid. Sweeping curves are a lot of fun. Gas mileage is good. I have yet to see another Mazda6 on the road since I bought it almost a month ago. Uniqueness, is a very good thing in my opinion.

By tminehart - February 11 - 10:00 amIve owned my six for a little over a year and its still a great car. As a son and grandson of autoworkers Ive driven or owned almost every type of car. The Six is a great car in every respect. My satisfaction with this car a year later is probably higher than the day I bought it. I live near mountains and the 4 cyl climbs better than most v6s and screaming around the corners on the down hill is stiff and predictible. Its been a pleasure to own.

By JohnTaylor - February 5 - 7:50 amI bought my Mazda 6 used and have had it for 2 1/2 years.. The car has been a pleasure to own everything has been beyond expectations.. The car has plenty of power and great MPG I avg 26-27 mpg with the V-6 something hard to find now days. The car is just right for the the new dad, that still wants something sporty to put the baby seat in. The car has been 100% reliable not a single problem and the inside of these things is so nice looks like a vehicle that would cost so much more.

Better than the Accord hands down - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By orange73 - December 31 - 10:00 amFor evreything you get with the 6, it with out a doubt is one of the best values out there. I had an Accord that a traded for my new 6 and the comparisons are not even close. The 6 looks better inside and out and is much more exciting to drive. The horses are a little low but the smooth-fun drive more than make up for the lack of power. This may be the best investment I have made on a vehicle. Bottom line, Mazda has sold me, I will be back for more. Very impressed!

So Far Its Good - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By meathead1986 - December 4 - 10:00 amIve owned this car for a few months and so far I couldnt be much happier with my purchase. I was told when i bought it that the catalytic converters had already been replaced in it which disappointed me but we made the purchase anyways. The ride on the new Hancock tires was amazing. For a front wheel drive car this thing handles amazing. The hatch offers a lot of potential for mass cargo so I intend to use it next year for a cross country trip. Gas mileage could be a little better but when switching from an SUV I cant really complain all that much. The only bad thing about the vehicle Ive found is the turning radius. Its pretty horrible and my old SUV could out turn it.
