  • Formerly Honda, now Mazda owner! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Ive had my 6i hatch (auto) for over 10 months and put on almost 14K miles. Mazda got it right! Im a former Honda Civic owner (15 years, 3 Civics) who wanted more features and horsepower and did not want to lose reliability. So far, I have had no issues (other than a little sputtering in the cold with no warmup). The 6i is not as quick to accelerate under 20mph as my Civic was, but its not a VTEC. The gas mileage truly stinks with the way I drive; Ive gotten as low as 19mpg and no higher than 26.5mpg so far. Car hugs the curves, though. I wish it came in a hybrid - Id trade this one in for it. The amount of room I have is astonishing. I recommend test driving to see if its for you.

I would have to say that my automotive preference is "luxurious sporty". I like cars that look good, handle well, and have enough power to do pretty much anything I want. The Mazda 6s is an absolutely fantastic choice if you are looking for the sportier version of an Altima, Accord or US class equivalent. The 6s handles like its on rails, accelerates extremely well, and stops on a dime. The interior is laid out very well. I first thought it was a little "too much" but once I got used to it the interior is laid out perfectly. The best part of this car is the price. For a car that costs $7k less than an Altima you get a lot more car. Oh one more thing, the traction control really works.

I just purchased a 2004 last night. It doesnt appear to be much different than the 2003.

I traded in a 1995 BMW M3 and I have almost no regrets. The insurance dropped in half. The comfort level increased in almost every way. I love the interior and exterior look. The trunk is extremely roomy. I have had only 2 minor problems: A squeaky seat belt and center console (fixed).

  • back in black - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Black 6s with 5 speed, black leather, bose. This car is solid. There is no noticeable flex in the chassis & the car rides flat in corners. The best thing about the 6 is its handling. Its really responsive and sure-footed. The engine is very smooth, but does not overwhelm you with low end torque. You must keep the revs up to utilize the 220 horses. No noticeable torque steer or major wheel hop in harder launches. Mileage was horrible at first, it has gotten better. The interior is nice for this class. The wheels are gorgeous. It is a great value in the low $20s with options.

  • Great Car - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Nearing 90,000 miles with zero problems. The only issue has been a few interior rattles that come and go depending on the outside temperature. It looks like I might be wearing out the drivers seat. Very fun to drive, cannot understand why Mazda decided to redesign the car?

I bought my Mazda 6s back with all the goodies except leather which you dont need in AZ back in 10/04. After arguing with the dealer for 2 days I got the deal I wanted. This car definitely drives better then the Accord, Altima and Camry I test drove. I already have 25,000 miles on it.

  • looks and drives great - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

i owned my 2004 mazda6 S for about two months now and i really enjoy driving it. It looks great and gets all the attention. it is a 5 speed and shifter feels very good. I cant even compare it to a honda or toyata because Mazda did a great job and overcame the others. Luxury package and sports package is a must on the Mazda6. I recommend it to everyone. My "zoom zoom" is a 5 speed steel gray mazda6 S. How do you want your "zoom zoom"?

  • Fun To Drive - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I have the 3.0 V-6 Mazda 6 S. This car wants to go. Youll want to drive it in a low gear around town, so that the revs are up, and the horsepower is available. At low revs, it doesnt have much snap. But if you are cruising at 3,000 rpm, you can seriously surprise some of those high-priced sedans youre running next to.

  • Cant beat it for the money - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I have a 2004 S that I have now put 40,000 miles on, with no trips yet to the dealer for repairs. Had a 2003 S before that which was totaled in a wreck. I took the insurance check and immediately bought a 2004 to replace it - the best kind of statement of satisfaction. Used to drive Toyotas, but neither Toyota or Honda has any sedans that are fun to drive. This car is still fun, drives like an adult sports car. Main drawback is that, as equipped, drives very rough and noisy over rough roads. However, the original Michelins wore out after 38,000 miles and I replaced them with Goodyears, which helps quiet the ride. The 2003 I owned before was never as noisy as this one.
