By Battleaxe - September 30 - 6:06 amThis is the first Mazda Ive owned. Its been a great car for the past 2 years. I love the performance and styling. I get comments all the time asking what kind of car it is. Ive only seen a few others on the road. Mileage isnt great, but at 220HP, I dont expect a lot, especially the way I drive. I really like the internal components in that the vents close completely, the controls are easy, auto temp AC, seat heaters. Theres tons of room when the seats are down. Just a great car.

Great Car - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By James C - September 26 - 6:30 pmMy wife and I bought our 04 used, it had 90,000km on it, Weve had it for about 3 weeks now and its been a dream driving it. We shopped for over 1 year and found this to be the perfect car. We have a 9 month old daughter and needed a car that was big enough for everything we had to lug around, as well as be fun to drive. The 6 hit the mark. With the car seat in the center of the back seat (due to side airbags deployed from front seats) there is still enough room to put the front seats all the way back. The 3L V6 is a little big for what we wanted, but with the 5 speed manual, its a lot of fun to drive and so far the fuel mileage seems to be good, even in cold winter driving (Canada).

By Pete - September 23 - 10:00 amSo, this is the first time I have EVER felt compelled to offer an online review. I am 43 years old and have owned 12 new cars, and this is by far the best. GREAT looks, catlike handling, a very smooth ride, it is very quiet and silky smooth. With incentives, and out the door price at 23k invoice this is the steal of the century. Mine has everything but leather (any leather burns your legs in summer, and is cold in winter, and is slippery). The Lapis Blue is stunning when seen in person. Manual transmission smooth and precise. Gripes? Ha! Get real, go see for yourself. Wish list - Nav as an option.

All the U, much more S than SUVs - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By fredjanke - August 18 - 10:00 amI just picked up one of the first Mazda 6 Wagons available last week. About 800 miles into it, I am very pleased with my purchase. I understand the value of cargo room, but dont want to drive some boat that doesnt corner and gets crappy milage. Enter the 6 Wagon, with most of the cargo capacity of smaller SUVs, but with the ability to corner and accelerate without mpg numbers starting with a 1. The engine is a bit less torquey than I expected, but spin it past 3 grand and it gets fun in a hurry. The handling is stellar, as is the interior. Its a heck of a lot of sport, cargo room, features, etc. for the $. And I can still drive a manual!

The anti-SUV - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By hyper-dog - August 18 - 10:00 amTraded 2dr extended cab Tacoma for Sport Wagon with 5 speed manual. Needed more interior room, but did not want gas guzzling, top heavy SUV or full size crew cab truck. This car is great! More fun to drive than my last sedan (98 VW Passat 1.8t/5spM), which had excellent driving dynamics too. The Mazda corners flatter and has better feel in the steering than the VW. Id like a slightly shorter throw on the shifter, but the feel is good. Dont look in the mirror and youd think your driving a sports coupe. Has as much cargo room as most of the 5 passenger SUVs but its a lot more fun to drive and gets better fuel economy.

By zzzooom - June 25 - 10:00 amThis is my second 6. My newest is a 2004 6s 5 door. I gave my 2003 S Sedan to my son. The 6s is absolutely the best sport sedan for the money. It handles on par with any FWD sports sedan. The leather interior is classy, yet understated. The driving experience is second to none. Its the best value out there. Now comes the 5 door..OMG...take all the attributes of the sedan and add the ability to carry almost anything I need to! AND it doesnt look like a stodgy hatchback. In fact its difficult to tell between the Sedan and the 5 door, until you open the trunk. With this feature, the value went up again!

Love my 6! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By MZBuckeye - June 25 - 10:00 amThe 6 is a fantastic car. With the manual transmission, the 2.3l has great pickup with even greater gas mileage. Interior is comfortable even for me (66"). I upgraded from the Mazda 3 because of interior size. The styling is fantastic. Just add some nicer rims (mine came with the 16" plastic hubcaps) and youre good to go. Much more style and individuality than other cars in this class. Lots of OEM accessories to add to this car in the future. Way to go Mazda!

Best Bang for the Buck - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By hrhkee - May 24 - 2:00 amI did 2-month research and almost did not buy this car when I found out it had Ford engine. It was between this and a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T Quatro. I chose the Mazda 6 Audi was too much $$$ for only all wheel drive difference. I have had it a day and I have no regrets. The pickup is lacking but the handling is awesome for a car without all wheel drive. I will increase the torque and low speed UMPH when after market products come out for this car but until then - my payments are less and my fun factor is still 9/10.
