Overview & Reviews
New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.
- More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

Awesome - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By stat721 - January 21 - 10:00 amI have driven a lot of cars and for 27000 dollars you cannot find a better car anywhere. The slick sporty look and the awesome handling only enhances the overall performance of the car. The car is great for every type of driving and would take it over a beemer any day.

Great car...with limitations... - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Kevin L. - January 15 - 10:00 amBought my Mazda 6 with all the options available and the car is quite striking in Lapis Blue Metallic-a few reservations though that everyone should know about: 1. The center console (HOD in the dash) cannot be modified with a dash kit, etc. without extensive work- this means that adding your own CD player, etc. is VERY difficult. 2. There is considerable throttle lag in the 5 speed version- the car does not want to accelerate much until at least 3500 RPM (on the highway though, the car passes other cars very nicely) 3. Fuel economy sucks - expect to spend $25+ a week on moderate driving 4. Sport package makes driving a bit bumpy (but handling is exceptional)

Fun to drive but with issues - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Davey - January 9 - 10:20 pmI bought this car new in 2004 and love the way it drives. Very quick and fun to drive. However, there have been reliability issues including a clutch that just doesnt seem to catch shifting first to second, the starter had to be replaced and finally, the cable that connected my shifter to the engine snapped and I could no longer shift my car into gear. Very puzzling and the dealership had no idea why that would have happened. I really do love my car but wish it was more reliable. Also, it is terrible in the snow with all-season tires.

Great Car! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Lee - December 24 - 5:00 pmFor the money (and even for cars that are more expensive), this car is phenomenal. GREAT sound system, very fast, comfortable, sleek features, many options that you cannot get with other non-luxury cars. Cant beat the performance, style, and overall quality for under $30,000. I used to have a Mercedes coup before the kids came along and this even beats that

Great Job Mazda - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Jan B. - December 3 - 10:00 amIn the search for a new car, I was looking for something unique in the automitive world. I found that with my Mazda 6. Its surprisingly powerful for a 4-cylinder. The interior and exterior are both very attractive designs. I really love my new Mazda. It hugs the road, and in the rain I feel safe driving. If you want a car that will turn heads, and accelerate faster than every other 4-cylinder after the red light turns green, get this car.

A Great Five Months - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Hippyhart - November 20 - 8:06 amI bought this car in September 2004, and after five months, I still smile when I see it. As my first new car, I was pleased with the price, options, and Mazdas warranty. Other reviews Ive read mention tight seating in the back, but Ive yet to hear a complaint. Coming from a hatchback, one of my top priorities was ample trunk space -- the Mazda 6 trunk is huge! The exterior styling is beautiful -- I think its the best looking car in its class.

first time Mazda owner - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By proudmazda - October 27 - 10:00 amAfter a lot of research, we bought our first Mazda. A sepang green metallic Mazda 6 with the sport package. After taking it on the first long weekend trip, we are amazed at the excellent gas mileage it got. We were concerned about pick up being that it was a V4, but our worries were put to rest. We traveled on heavy traffic highways, and passed any vehicle with ease. There were many times we caught ourselves going 80 without even realizing it, that is how smooth and powerful the ride was. We would recommend this vehicle to anyone, without hesitation, and that is what we didnt have with this Mazda 6 ......hesitation :) zoom - zoom
