Overview & Reviews
New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.
- More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

Zoom Zoom with room - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By midnightmike - April 1 - 12:53 pmI had previously owned a Chevy Avalanche for my dj business. Even though I loved my truck, I felt it was time to downsize. I saw the Mazda wagon at the Chicago Auto Show. My wife and I liked the car very much. The next day, we bought one. She had a 2001 Protege so I knew about Mazdas reliability. This car handles all of my equipment without a problem. This car can really move and handle like a race car. I just love driving it. The color is Steel Gun Grey and it is fully loaded. Everyone I run into thinks its a Dodge Magnum. The Dodge is too expensive and really isnt that much roomier than the 6. You really cannot beat the price of the 6 and everything you get for the money.

Good, but not that good - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Jeremy - March 15 - 3:06 pmI purchased my Mazda in Jan of 2005 new. I was a great price and I could not resist it. However, the had problems within the first year of owning the it. I had to replace the tires after 20K of driving. In year 2 I had to replace the breaks. I also noticed that I was getting less than 300 miles to the tank, which was pretty sad considering I drive mostly highway at 70-75 mph. Now, I am by no means an aggressive driver these types of issues should not happen in such a short amount of time. In year 3 my battery died, but what got me was that I had to replace the shock. I traded this one in for a Honda, but I think I got a lemon on this one.

Sporty meets Practicality - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By StarCrab - March 8 - 2:00 amThe only thing that surpassed the exterior design was the handling and feel for the road while driving. You can literally be merging the freeway on a very curved onramp and floor it, and it grips the turn flawlessly. The center console is by far the coolest feature of the car. The automatic climate control is a little buggy; it always turns on the AC even to raise the temperature, and therefore is unsuccessful. The rpms really have to be 4,000+ in order to get the feeling like youre being thrown out of your seat, but it can be done. I should add that the car rides very well there and is perfectly happy being at 4,000 the entire trip.

nice car - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Dave - February 26 - 11:20 pmBought this car (2004 S sedan) as a demo, Got it for my wife. great car. have driven it 66,000 miles and have had 0 problems. It needed a new driver seat, but they replaced it under warranty. It still has the factory brakes on it. The interior is a little cramped for bigger folks.

Mazda 6-cess! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By randy - February 25 - 12:13 pmI got my car to replace my totaled mazda b-2500. the only complaints i have is the notchy gearbox and various rattles but thats it. my mazda is rock bottom of the 04 mazda6 lineup- no moon roof, automatic trans, leather, multi disk player etc. but the interior design is very good and roomy. cars good for aggressive driving and sounds the part too. some say it doesnt get enough horse power and mileage but mine with a aftermarket intake has 30-40 extra hp and 2-3 more mpg, so dont change the car change the intake.

Best Car in its class - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Stuna - February 1 - 2:00 amI only have 2500 miles on the car but it has been a blast to drive. I looked at everything out there and the handling alone won me over. Little slugish in the low RPMs but moves after 2700 RPM. Transmision seems to adjust during driving. Dont know if it a variable transmision or not. Love the interior. Cloth seats are very comfortable.

Review - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By C hris - January 21 - 10:00 amExcellent fun to drive vehicle with a lot of punch for a Sedan under 25K. It took me nearly a year to finally decide what type of car I wanted to purchase, and I have loved every minute with my 6.
