New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.

• More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

  I just go rid of my GM car and purchased a M6s sports package. I have had it about a month now and love every second of it.

  Bought my 04 6S 5-speed in January 06 with only 5500 miles on it; Ive put 11K on it since then and have had no major problems. V6 has plenty of power, you just have to let it rev to get to it. Suspension is by far best in class for handling, almost as good as a BMW. Almost. Ride is fine on highways, but rough over city pavement, but thats not what it was built for so who cares. Comfy interior, fantastic seats, but climate control has mind of its own and is usually too cold. 3rd gear grouches when you rush your 2-3 shift, other than that gearbox is fine, shifts are relatively quick but clutch is pretty heavy for a family sedan. Mileage is crappy, I get 20 MPG (highway commute).

  This car is sooooo me!! All that I can say is that "I LOVE THIS RIDE"...we are one with the road!! I am actually excited, and intrigued enough that I do not have to fight to stay awake at long distances. Get in, sit back, enjoy...this is indeed one for the road. Truly, TDW

  I cant say enough how much I love this car! I know there are no perfect car for <$50k (or above?). But its amazing to me how little you give up for how much you get in this sexy 5-dr hatchback! I can go to a $50k budget and there isnt another car that can beat out this package in every major aspect. The holistic approach that Mazda took to driving pleasure really pays off (see below for highlights). Beneath the aggressive exterior is a car that blends in the handling (and good looks) of a sports coupe, the luxurious ride of a lexus and the utility of a compact suv. Simply unbelievable!

  Bought new in 04. 60K miles so far. Replaced all 4 tires and brakes and changed the oil regularly. Luckily no big problems. Its a good looking car thats fun to drive. I have the sport package with the automatic tranny (wish I got the manual). I like the car but the rear tires get cupped if you dont rotate them often enough. You also have to be careful washing it that you dont break off the cheap antenna (oops). When shes clean she gets lots of looks. There is also a little hesitation with the automatic tranny when you punch the throttle and its very annoying. But still, a nice family car that doesnt look like one.

  Rotten egg smell all the time. Filed lemon law. Mazda dealer replaced all four cats. Still stinks. Tried different gas. No difference. Getting rid of this machine. Mazda not cooperating.

  I have owned this car for 6 months. There have been no problems with the car in terms of build quality or fit and finish. The design looks great. The best thing about this car is driving it. The Mazda6 is a fun car to drive -- Zoom, Zoom.

  IVE HAD THIS MAZDA FOR LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AND UNDERNEATH THE DOOR SEALS IS RUSTING AWAY ON ALL FOUR DOORS, MAZDA CALLED IT A STAINING PROBLEM NO WAY IT IS POOR CRAFTMANSHIP OR DESIGN PROBLEM. IVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH NOISE IN THE SUSPENSION AND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT

  I just bought this car and i fell in love with after only 3 hrs of driving. Its safety features are excellent especially to new parents.
